(1) Do you have a source for you billion dollar fraud claim?

(2) The only way increased food stamp spending would not stimulate the economy would be if the money were actually funded by corresponding tax increases occurring simultaneously with the food stamp spending. But that's not what happens. You can not like food stamps. It's fine. But don't make stupid arguments about food stamps because you dislike it.

Food stamps don't stimulate anything when balaced against the cost for the program...it's this kind of lame and stupid logic that keeps us stuck in our current lagging economy. Added to this is the billion dollar fraud the program supports.

Tiny hit to SS and FICA revenue, but will give a definite incentive to hire new employees

the amount would be 3.5% of poverty level income figure per employee
A nice little carrot for employers to bite at.

Now, you liberals will love this part. You can get some of the money lost from the employers back from the employees by classifying this employer deduction as income to the employees. The employee will pay the extra 3.5% but will be allowed to deduct that amount from taxable income along with the standard deduction or itemized deductions.


therefore, this only costs the governemnt ~.65% of the 3.5% income figure while it appears to give a 3.5% cut to employers to hire new employees

It's quite simple really. Giving poor people money to spend increases economic activity. Increased economic activity stimulates the economy. What part of that is "lame and stupid?"
