Which was completely irrelevant to the woman's complaint.

The caller aint Chris Rock. Neither are her guests. She does not invite white people over to tell jokes using the N word. This was not about what is appropriate for some risqué comedian that gets broadcast in the late hours on a channel one pays to watch. It was about what is appropriate in polite conversation, inside her home and in ways that are personal to her.

I actually think it's WORSE when Chris Rock uses the word! With the KKK, we understand their connotation, we know exactly where their minds are at, and what they mean. When Chris Rock (or any black performer) uses the word, it sends a confusing message... is the word okay? Is it only okay for black people? I think the word should not be used by blacks either but to put their use of it on par with the use of it by whites just feeds the racist crackers that are pissed they can't use it publically like they used to. They still do, but hidden and behind closed doors. (note: In anticipation of the banning of the use of the word peckerwood by the National White Whiner People's Association, I used the word cracker instead of peckerwood.)

Yeah. But, Dr Laura is not the President. That's not an apples to apples comparison. I doubt any black radio personality would get into any trouble. That's not really relevant.

Again, her use of the word, does not bother me that much. It is the stupidity of her point that bothers me.

The language used by some comedians is not appropriate in most contexts. It is stupid to pretend that white people should feel free to say n#%$^& because a comedian does. We don't feel free to use other vulgar words from their routine. And no there is no reason that comedians language should comply with what is considered appropriate in all places.

The problem is that stupid white people think they can use the word all they want in a joke and then fall back on the excuse that comedians use it. No one expects other parts of their routines should be appropriate in all cases. I mean, go talk about your first experiences in sucking dick in graphic detail (Richard Pryor) and see how it goes over. I am guessing, some people will be offended. No, I have the perfect word! "Axe" is a common mispronunciation of "ask" and often used by blacks and not whites, just as "nigger" was a slang word often used by whites and not blacks. So what we will do is, forbid black people from ever using the word "axe" again... white people can routinely use the word, as much as they like, but when a black man says it, we will condemn him for being an uneducated illiterate. That way, everything is fair, blacks have "nigger" and whites have "axe" and the double-standard will apply evenly across the board. Fair enough?
