That's ridiculous. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say all big cities have inner-city problems, and all big cities aren't run by dems.

According to Census figures in 2013, 18.9 million whites are poor. That’s 8 million more poor white people than poor black people....

That means that in 2013 poor Whites were roughly at a 2.36 HIGHER percentage rate then Blacks.

Why wasn't the murder rate by Whites 2.36% higher then Blacks during that time period?

Let's see...do they exist in the inner cities, at the kind of population levels we see in those areas? Has the drug trade made its way into their communities on the same level? What sorts of options to do the young men of those communities have compared to the inner city? How do educational and job opportunities compare? What kind of discrimination in those areas are Native Americans and Alaskan Natives subject to, compared to their inner city counterparts in the black community? How about single parenting situations? What is the level of gang activity? How about neglect, or detrimental conditions? (see: Flint, MI).

There is so much more to it than you & I could ever come up with here, and that people who study it for years still don't fully understand. I'm sorry is this if too many "circumstances" for you. But it's impossibly simplistic to ask why there isn't as much violence among Native Americans as there is among blacks, because hey, both have poverty, and everything else is pretty much the same.

Most big cities are run by Democrats. I think Miami has a Republican Mayor but very few other big cities do. Cities like Oakland and San Francisco don't even have an elected Republican in them.
 
I don't care if people blame Democrats. I think both parties are to blame, but Democrats probably get a bigger share if we really analyzed it.

The bottom line is that the inner cities have been largely neglected for decades. It's about education & job opportunities, and they're STILL sorely lacking in both departments.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, so it's the inner cities and not poverty that are the reason for all this.

This makes the solution very easy then.
Those cities that have such high crime rates in the "inner cities" can solve the entire problem, by beginning to rear down those inner city sections.

I don't think you're a racist, USF. But you are dangerously close to blaming something inherent in African Americans for these issues. And you certainly have little to no understanding of what is going on in those communities.

NO; because at no point have I implied or even suggested that anything was "inherent", as opposed to those who want to imply and have stated that being poor and living in the inner city is inherent to crime.

As to the rest of your reply; it just appears that you are projecting.

You really think all those big cities in the deep south are run by dems? Mobile, Dallas, Houston, Little Rock, etc.?

Mobile has less than 200K so I don't consider it all that big but for the South it's good size. They just had a black (Democratic) Mayor for eight years. A Republican replaced him in 2013. I don't know the make up of their city counsel.

The Mayor of Jackson is a black Democrat.

The Mayor of Little Rock is a Democrat who won re-election unopposed
