I can imagine how it would have gone if Trump blamed Obama citing that law that passed in Obama's administration (actually a fact, they actually cited that law that passed in 2016 under Obama when trying to blame Trump) instead of effectively responding to an emergency. Then Trump promised "whatever he might need" then his administration said "no" when they asked for something.

I don't disagree, but for all of their flaws, they still don't have the core pernicious dementia of conservatives,
