Does Barack Obama want to be re-elected in 2012?

your dishonesty is so transparent....lol....you dared me to ask for links, yet now its "yurt is so demanding"...you're such a fool

and no, if you were to read all the debates where i show you're wrong, you always say i'm hairsplitting...its weak and you know it, but you're incapable of admitting you're wrong

Delusions of grandeur, Yurt - delusions of grandeur.

I have seen debates where you think you have "shown me wrong," and procalim it again & again in typical chest-beating fashion, but not too many where I was actually wrong.

You're a proven hairsplitter, because you generally jump in w/out looking first. Just the facts....

still no links huh :cof1:

Whew - that took some doing! Here's one where both STY & Damo argue that Obama's economic policies are just a continuation of Bush:

I know for a fact that there are also threads for bravo, Annie & Dix. I'll get them, but for now, this completely undermines your claim about what "they are saying", which will do for this afternoon.

Now, back to my real job. Any other stupid claims you want to make?

I don't accept your apology, btw. No more demands out of you until you actually argue something real.

LOL...i just skimmed a few posts and onceler shows what a dishonest hack he is...STY doesn't claim obama and bush are the same on the economy, he in fact makes it clear that obama is more socialist and bush more is fascist

oh...but wait for the claim of hairsplitting :cof1:

MY job? You make an accusation based on the idea that you have read every single conversation regarding this topic on this board, and it's MY job?

Start with #4 and #21. Like I said - that's all that's needed to completely undermine what you claimed.

Now, I shall gear up for the inevitable attempts to discredit & distract, and yes!, split hairs as well....

The Democrats had been waiting for this moment in history when they had a majority in the House, a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate and an extremist in the White House. It was the perfect storm for them to put a few final nails in the coffin of what made this country great: capitalism. Now that they've done it, sure they'd like to get re-elected forever but they have their big pensions and will gladly settle for early retirement.

Yep, the Democrats have abolished capitalism.

Seriously, there has been almost no policy change from the previous administration. FDR's government in 1932 was far more economically radical, to a point where even I didn't like some of it's policies (the NRA, for instance, WAS a first step to establishing a control economy).

I gotta hand it to them they've planned and fought for this for decades and when the time came for those at the point of the sword to sacrifice themselves they did just that. I wish the pansies in the GOP had the same level of commitment to their cause.

The GOP get's practically everything it wants, even when it's in the minority.

Hey, did I call that, or what?

Like I said Yurt, I do not accept your apology. So, while I'm sure you were eager to offer it, save yourself some time....

why would i apologize? for what? for taking your dare and asking for links?

gawd, you're a sensitive little boy

The GOP as a whole is not any different than the elite in DNC. Odds are they are going to take the House and maybe the Senate in Nov. Question then will be, what they do after that. It will determine results in 2012.

1982 was a landslide year for the Democrats and a big setback for Reagan, but he was still able to completely change the political paradigm in the US.

However, even if the Republicans don't gain a majority in the house or the senate, conservatives will be able to effectively block all legislation. The current coalition is weak enough as it is, and there is a very large conservative contingent among Democrats while the only moderate Republicans in congress are the senators from Maine.

Wishfull thinking. They might, might take the house, no way will they take the senate. All the pollings I've seen indicate they will make serious gains but not the kind your thinking. Keep in mind, as unpopular as democratic congressionals are, republican congressionals are even more unpopular.

To see what I mean about the Senate, look at 4 or so Teabag Senate candidate who won their parties nomination and then promptly shot them selves in the foot. The same people who opposed Obama, the birthers, the "he's a muslim crowd", the "he's a socialist" wackos, all opposed him in 08. Nothings really changed there and the swing voters and folks out in the burbs have not forgottent what a miserable failure the Bush administration was with their extremist far right policies. We aint gonig back to that.

Mott, the Teabag senate candidates are, to my knowledge, still ahead in the polls. The fact that these guys are polling above 20% should tell you how shitty the Democrats are doing. Barbara Boxer is only polling like 4% in fucking California. She is a multi-term incumbent in a liberal state - she should be 20 fucking points ahead. The only reason I think the Republicans are unlikely to retake the senate is because only 1/3 of it is elected at the time. But it is certainly a possibility, and may even become likely as the race unfolds. They will certainly have an extremely effective minority in the senate and a likely majority in the house.

Agreed, but what's interesting is that most of the posters you mentioned - as well as a few others - have gone to great lengths to paint Obama as a socialist who has taken the country on an extreme left turn, but also have posts that basically say "he's just like Bush!"

I don't even care. My #1 concern right now is the economy - more action is needed, and bolder action is needed. People say the stimulus didn't work, but the simple fact is that is wasn't enough. We're at a pretty key juncture right now.

Nothing is going to pass after this point. Hopefully it was at least enough gas to put us over the hill, and we don't start sliding back down.

Unfortunately if the Republicans win they could try to take credit for the recovery, even though they will essentially be in no position to dictate policy even if they do retake both houses of congress and it will just be grandstanding.

What we need are some serious, out-spoken, small government conservatives elected in the fall to both houses. This could help influence RHINO's. Hell I would just love to have enough clout to undo the Obama madness.

The best case scenario would allow us to undo the Obama mess and prevent anymore spending combined with a friendlier approach to business.

I'm working for Roskum's re-election. Other than that, I'm staying local. Now I'm in a very red county, in a very blue state. Change is going to come from bottom up and I'm going with those locals that are saying they want to get the state in order. For the most part they are Republicans and independents. Not much tea party endorsements here, but the ripple effect is evident.
