Do liberals want to chill speech: the attempted silencing of Shapiro

Do you deny this Thing?

I think the anti-war movement got larger as the war went on - because people didn't expect it to last as long as it did, and it became more & more clear how wrong the decision was.

Not in '03. All you have to do is google "Dixie Chicking" or "blacklisting & Iraq," and you'll get scores of articles about how economically impacted celebrities like Jeanine Garofalo, Tim Robbins, Sean Penn, Bill Maher, et al were for speaking out. Some had shows canceled & were fired from jobs.

Frankly, I think you're either incredibly naive, poorly informed or simply weren't alive or reading the news then not to be aware of this. I've rarely seen such willful ignorance. Your partisanship blinds you - it simply blinds you to reality.

Of course there was a negative effect on the record company. You're arguing a completely different thing from your bogus basketball team analogy.

It's actually sort of amazing.

What's amazing is your inability to remember that you're the one who wanted to talk about the impact that boycotting "intimidation" has and now you want to hide.

Prove your claims.
