It matters to me when corruption is what got them on the “correct” path. I am not always against corporations getting special treatment. Depends on the what and why. I see arguments both ways with Disney and Reedy Creek.

What happened with DeSantis bothers me because it sends a very clear message to every Florida business that they better not oppose Governor DeSantis or he will use government power to fuck with them.

Popularity is not my compass for right and wrong. Using the power of the state to punish your political rival is wrong even if popular. It was wrong when Mussolini did it, it was wrong when Stalin did it, and it’s wrong now.

It’s a good way to get lots of corporate donations to your campaign, with which you can use to manipulate the voters.
