Did Trumpism end tonight?

I think DeSantis has shown he has what it takes to shed the lies of demmycrats and succeed.......that is the essence of Trumpism......

One of the pillars of Trumpism is election denial. There is also a toxicity to his brand.

I disagree w/ DeSantis on most things - but he's a regular politician. I can handle that, as most can. If you put both Trump and DeSantis in a room w/ the Constitution, only one of those guys would be inclined to trash it.

the only principles of Trumpism that are relevant are 1) the demmycrats will lie about you and 2) you will succeed anyway......

The GOP might still make big gains by morning - but clearly, not what they expected. And election deniers in states that aren't deep red are not faring well.

But the biggest development is the HUGE DeSantis win in FL. And no - he is not Trumpism. To national Republicans, he may now represent the path forward for not just the Presidency, but a new direction for the party as a whole.

Trump will spin it - but this wasn't a good night for him. And I'd bet we see a lot less talk about stolen elections from other Republicans.

Democracy may have won tonight. Not calling it, but I feel a lot more positive about the future than I did yesterday.

I hope so but I doubt it. Leftists created trump and won't let him die.

The ONLY thing keeping the Trump Party afloat, because there is no more Republican Party, is Denial and Gerrymandering.

Head to Head, there are more Democratic Voters than Republican, and each year the gap is growing.

Please Die … in a hurry

Trumpism is over. The other presidential wannabe will attack him while he is down. They will suddenly care about him stealing a truckload of classified documents. They will think NY is doing the right thing in his tax cheating charges. His interfering in Georgia's election results will suddenly be noticed. Trump is vulnerable and they have been too afraid to take him on before, but it is time to take him out.

That may be the silver lining to the evening

Exactly my sentiments. Just enough of a win to keep the disastrous policies of dims in check , not enough to continue Trumpism (fascism lite).
Hopefully a move toward moderation and sanity by both parties.

This was definitely a big win for DeSantis and a Yuge loss for Trump. Time for the GOP to give up on Trump.

Especially because the RNC has been pumping huge amounts of donor money into Trump legal defense instead of giving it to midterm candidates. Time for them to cut ties completely.

As I said numerous times - I did not personally, much care who won.
Both parties are beyond useless.

But...it is pretty obvious (to me) that Trump is a liability to the Reps.

Sure, his hardcore base are with him.
But he lost most of the rest after his childish behavior after the 2020 election.

I believe the Republicans MUST move on from Donald Trump if they EVER want to gain the WH and Congress (fully and solidly) again.
Fortunately, for them, he is really old and can not possibly be a factor for much longer.

But if he announces his intention to run on the 15'th?
The Reps can kiss the WH gone for at least, another 4 years.
Unless Biden goes COMPLETELY senile and runs again in 2024.

A senile Biden is about the ONLY Dem candidate Trump can beat, imo.

Of course, hardcore MAGA types don't think that.
But they are - like hardcore Bidenbots - STAGGERINGLY biased and their opinions on this, means nothing.

Let's hope this is the beginning of the end of this cancer, called Trumpism?!!

Both parties may indeed be useless, but at least they're very different, and with a binary choice, we're obligated to take a side.

That's easy for me.

I've voted straight Democratic tickets every two years since 1968 including an absentee ballot while in military service.

I missed '64 and '66 because there was no 18-year-old vote then.

What, Mr. Rocket, is so hard about figuring out which useless party is less repugnant to you?

Did Trumpism end tonight?

No, of course not.
His hardcore base will stick with him...probably for the rest of his life (what's left of it).

As for Trump being able to push the Reps to political success?
That ended after Trump did his ridiculous, 'stolen election' paranoia (like a spoiled brat).
He lost too much respect from the center rights after that.

Adult males take a loss....like a man.
Childish ones whine about a loss and refuse to accept it.

Every election Trump did not like?
He made up some excuses why they went against his wishes.

He is a KNOWN cheater at golf...MASSIVELY.

Donald Trump simply is a man child and has not and (probably) never will, accept defeat.
