DeSantis won 14 percent of black voters and 44 percent of Hispanic voters in Florida

" ... CNN exit polls showed DeSantis won 60 percent of the white vote, down from the 64 percent Trump received in 2016, and down 9 percentage points among white women. DeSantis made up from his loss with white voters by spiking his numbers with minorities. DeSantis won 14 percent of black voters and 44 percent of Hispanic voters.

This is a drastic improvement from Trump’s results in 2016 and outgoing Gov. Rick Scott’s results in 2014. DeSantis nearly doubled Trump’s results among black voters and improved among Hispanics by 9 points. ... "

minority voters had a big wake up call with Obama, they saw what happened when you voted for someone based on the color of their skin, Obama almost sank the ship, unqualified is very dangerous in these times we live

Oh, well there ya go.
indeed. polls had both Gillum and Nelson up-
but they overestimated the PR vote..anecdotal like my hairdresser aren't polls - but they are a good sampling of opinion ( she's in Kissimmee where the PR's are concentrated)

^^
Obviously, conservatives have gotten very sensitive about the facts being pointed out that they belong to an overwhelmingly Caucasian, white nationalist party.

Before you leap to assumptions and guesswork that the GOP is improving it's status among minorities, you have to look at, and account for all the data.

Florida is home to very large populations of Cuban-Americans and Hatian-Americans. Cuban and Hatian Americans tend to be more conservative than Hispanics and blacks nationally. There are probably other factors you might want to consider before leaping to a conclusion, but my contribution is one you should at least start with.

p.s., I have never heard of a political party spiking the ball in the end zone for getting 14 percent of the vote of a particular demographic. If you account for a statistical margin of error, there is a reasonably possibility that this outcome is pretty much average for the typical GOP slice of the black vote.

I posted an article on this last week. DiSantos won much bigger than normal votes among black women because of his backing of school choice. It's a very specific policy measure that has demonstrable effects in the black community.

Speaking about improvement in votes isn't spiking any ball, it's analyzing election results after the fact.

So much Democrat racism, it's tough to keep up with all the Leftwing flip flopping :palm:

guess what Trump chump, the asshole's DISapproval just hit an all time low, 60% and his approval tanked to 38% (Gallup)

you were saying?

Excellent, bigdog.

Now the struggle, to get votes for Dems or increase them for Pubs among the minorities, will be an important vote in the FL congressional races in 2020.

Dems will need to start making their post election emergency backup ballet bins contain more Dem minority votes.
