That depends on how long the three ring circus continues.

But the point is, that in this case Dems have been their own worst enemy. They should have just kept their mouths shut and continued to let Trump be their greatest asset. LOL

first, historically the opposition party no matter what always picks up seats in the first midterm.

secondly all polls show dems with a huge generic ballot lead.

while republican CAN hold on to the house, dems are a pretty sizable favorite to take the house, at around 3.5:1

They want to try to beat him wherever they can out of frustration - but they're not taking the long view on this one. If they did keep Kav from getting confirmed, it could be a classic win the battle/lose the war thing.

Dems generic lead seems to have stabilized around 7%. Trump is stable at 44%

Look, I don't think it's a huge deal. He was just doing his usual riff. But it's silly to claim he wasn't mocking her.

Just own it. He's a mocker - it's part of his schtick. It's embarrassing for anyone to try to deny that was his intent.

Exactly. Having said that SF's comment was completely asinine. During the Whitewater and Lewinsky investigations the GOP was willing to precipitate a Constitutional crisis over a triviality that the vast majority of Americans opposed. That certainly didn't stop them.

maybe he was. I'm not sure. I don't think he said anything that wasn't true. Nor did I find it offensive. He really said nothing bad at all

I feel fairly certain the Republicans will gain one or two seats in the Senate and lose about 20 in the House. That is as it stands today, but the ground is shifting and who knows where we will stand in November.

jarod does this stuff all the time, he downplays the dems chances so when/if they win he can claim an even bigger victory and talk about how historic it is.
