Democrats in trouble?

if there is one thing you don't understand about the right, is how much we love our judges. it absolutely will be lasting rage. whether or not it makes a huge difference is another topic.
That depends on how long the three ring circus continues.

But the point is, that in this case Dems have been their own worst enemy. They should have just kept their mouths shut and continued to let Trump be their greatest asset. LOL

:lolup:Thinks Democrats will win the house. :rofl2:

I wonder what winning platform that is going to be on? Hate Trump? Hate Kavananugh? Hate Conservatives? Hate the White man? :rofl2:

bro you are delusional

first, historically the opposition party no matter what always picks up seats in the first midterm.

secondly all polls show dems with a huge generic ballot lead.

while republican CAN hold on to the house, dems are a pretty sizable favorite to take the house, at around 3.5:1

They want to try to beat him wherever they can out of frustration - but they're not taking the long view on this one. If they did keep Kav from getting confirmed, it could be a classic win the battle/lose the war thing.

great news going forward

no one gives a fuck about christian anymore. where do you live where christians matter at all? I seriously don't think I have interacted with an overtly (or even subtle) religious person in a decade. maybe longer.

early voting is starting next week? this will carry over I'm sure. how much...?

EDIT:

Dems generic lead seems to have stabilized around 7%. Trump is stable at 44%

yeah and he said nothing bad at all. who cares.

Look, I don't think it's a huge deal. He was just doing his usual riff. But it's silly to claim he wasn't mocking her.

Just own it. He's a mocker - it's part of his schtick. It's embarrassing for anyone to try to deny that was his intent.

Exactly. Having said that SF's comment was completely asinine. During the Whitewater and Lewinsky investigations the GOP was willing to precipitate a Constitutional crisis over a triviality that the vast majority of Americans opposed. That certainly didn't stop them.

Oh yes....Democrats way over played their hand.

It's mostly men who have been angered and understandably so. The appearance that a persons career and reputation can be completely ruined by just the mere allegation of sexual misconduct, with out corroborating evidence is extremely, very frightening.

Why do you think it is "mostly" men? You think a LOT of women are with this smear campaign? I doubt that.

So the three ring circus is impacting the upcoming Midterms as it appears the attacks by Democrats on Kavanaugh have turned into a circular firing squad.

Yep.

Now having said that I have no sympathy for Kavanaugh. He played that card when he was part of Ken Starr's brain trust during the Whitewater investigation, an egregious abuse of power if ever there was one, now that he's getting the same treatment he gave to others he's crying "Foul".

So you think it is okay to unethically smear a judicial nomination to get even? That is beyond pathetic.

Well that just falls on deaf ears with me. He should have thought about that when he was needlessly destroying the careers and reputations of innocent people as a member of a runaway partisan hit mob to take down a siting President.

It wasn't a runaway partisan hit job to take BillyBob down you historically ignorant fool. There was actually a criminal complaint about their involvement with Whitewater and the Savings and Loan implosion.

LMAO... way to set the bar high. No, it is not an 'epic win' if they hold the GOP to a 2 seat gain. Most of the seats have no chance of flipping. Epic win... lmao.

i'll gladly take thing1s definition of winning where we can keep ramming through judicial appointments. if that's what losing is then I'm game. lol.

Why you and every other sane, thinking poster on this board don't have that mindless, immature, juvenile asswipe on ignore already is beyond me.

He never says anything worth reading and putting him on ignore only takes about a minute.

:lolup:A useless asswhipe who thinks he doesn't uselessly troll threads hurling insults at everyone. :rofl2:

All this talk of "backlash." Base GOP voters are always angry. They're turning out regardless.

If Kav gets confirmed, what do they complain about? The investigation? That's not lasting anger, imo. I don't see a big difference there.

Is there no "backlash" for Trump & the right once again mocking women and marginalizing the way many are treated?

I'm interested to see what happens. Democrats have far better candidates across the board this year, and people are underestimating voter registration efforts and the raw emotion on the left. I think Democrats take the House, and minimize GOP gains in the Senate.

So name the seats. Let’s get specific. What seats do you think democrats will win?

Come on sparky. Fuck generalities. Get specific.

maybe he was. I'm not sure. I don't think he said anything that wasn't true. Nor did I find it offensive. He really said nothing bad at all

A couple days ago I read an great article in the thriving NYT. The article described how the writer saw the political landscape shifting under the Kavanaugh hearings such that helped the Republicans in the Senate and the Democrats in the House. It appears that today the newest batch of polling data is bearing that our. Specific and crucial Senate votes... Missouri, Nevada and Texas specifically. The Republicans were more laid back about this election and they are now angry.

So, their is still a month to go.

We have two broad scenarios ahead of us. Kavanaugh is confirmed or he is not. It seems to me the Republican anger is likely to subside if Kavanaugh is confirmed and the Democratic anger will be stoked that one who many believe to be a serial abuser of woman will be on the Court. For political reasons I suspect the Democrats hope he is not confirmed, yet still the candidates in the Conservative States will be forced to take a side.

My net perspective is that at this point Kavanaugh is helping the Republicans.

I feel fairly certain the Republicans will gain one or two seats in the Senate and lose about 20 in the House. That is as it stands today, but the ground is shifting and who knows where we will stand in November.

Funny. What you are saying is that the Republicans keep the house and the Senate

Hmmmm I wonder if GayRod is trying to make people complacent?

jarod does this stuff all the time, he downplays the dems chances so when/if they win he can claim an even bigger victory and talk about how historic it is.
