Nope, it is not. it is a majority win in all elections except one. The presidential elections are saddled with a way out-of-date electoral college monstrosity. Run for dog catcher, majority vote wins. School board, most votes win. Mayor, house, senate, most votes win.

Correct, we are a representative republic. It means rather than pure democracy (which still exists by the way in many small towns where decisions are made at town meetings) we have representative democracy. You can look it up. It's what voting is about. Makes us a different kind of republic from, say, The Peoples Republic of China.

There is no such thing as a 'representative democracy'. Democracies have no representatives and no constitution.
China is not a republic. It is currently an oligarchy, bordering on dictatorship. It is also facing the possibility of a violent revolution (again).

Different from republics such as those in China and North Korea in that ours is governed under a system of representative democracy. Now go read a dictionary and a book about your country.
