It appears the balloon found floating over U.S. airspace that China insisted was simply collecting weather data could—to nobody’s surprise—collect sensitive communications. The balloon, recovered off the coast of South Carolina, had “multiple antennas” and other components “clearly for intelligence surveillance,” a State Department spokesperson said Thursday. The antennas were likely capable of collecting and geo-locating communications, they said. The balloon also had solar panels that generated enough power to “operate multiple active intelligence collection sensors.” And the balloon’s manufacturer appears to have a direct relationship with China’s military. “It’s clear that they have been scrambling to explain why they violated U.S. sovereignty and still have no plausible explanation—and have found themselves on their heels,” the spokesperson said.

Can you chew gum and walk at the same time? Having antena does not preclud taking digital images and relaying those images back to China.

The company's website advertises balloon products and even includes videos from past flights that appear to fly over U.S. airspace and airspace of other countries.

OK, so this proves there was camera equipment on that specific balloon, how exactly?

I quoted the article for you where they describe what was on the balloon, but I'll happily do so again because unlike you, I'm not a coward.

SENSORS...they don't say cameras or digital cameras or any kind of imaging equipment. They say SENSORS, which makes sense because the balloon was meant to intercept and collect communications because why would they not use their spy satellites to take a picture?

:laugh: No where in the article does it say that the balloon was not capable of photo imagery. In fact it says the company that built it has videos taken by their balloons over the US. So again prove to me that the balloon didn't have photo imagery equipment on it and they weren't transmuting photos back to China. And while you are at it why do you think it is OK to transmitting the geolocation of our nuclear silos back to China so that they could be targeted for a direct hit. Are you a communist?
