Defund public libraries

I am asking you to make a case for why the govt should be paying for libraries. If you can't make the case just fucking say so instead of this back and forth bullshit.

There is no back and forth.

Again, Cypress and I have already answered your question.

Another reason would be education and research. Why do school have libraries? Yep you got it... education and research.

Now answer my questions, please.

Agreed. So do hospitals but the govt doesn't pay for them. AGAIN why should govt pay for libraries?

Hospitals are funded by the Gov’t, even private hospitals receive substantial public subsidies, and the Gov’t more than often partial pays for the services they offer

Well its good see one of you shitheads at least make an effort even though it's still shit. It seems you read nothing hate material. This is why I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.

Good example of "hate material". You're a good example yourself.

Depends on the hood. One was closed in Anchorage for that reason.

I've been to many, many libraries. Once I went to a college library to do some research few floors down. I had to go to a bathroom and those men were suspicious.

I understand how women feel.

Missouri House Republicans vote to defund libraries

Missouri House Republicans voted to defund all of the state’s public libraries, in a proposed $45.6 billion state budget that will soon move to a vote in the GOP-controlled state Senate.

The Missouri House debated for over eight hours last Tuesday on a budget that is roughly $2 billion less than the one Gov. Mike Parson (R) proposed last January, cutting not only the $4.5 million Parson had slated for libraries, but also costs for diversity initiatives, childcare and pre-kindergarten programs.

I am so very grateful to have escaped that ignorant and fascist hellhole.

"Diversity initiatives," code for discrimination by race.

Free stuff for illegals who are not even supposed to be here.

You mean free-to-read books that might help them better learn English so they don't have to risk assholes like you saying nasty stuff to them if they speak their mother tongue in public?

Cypress already answered. I'll answer. Because libraries are havens for children.

Missouri used to value and fund education. My h.s. education was the equivalent of today's AA degree from a community college. My kids practically grew up in the library, as did I when I was young. Interestingly, not a one of the five is a MAGAT or (R). And there you go... that explains why the (R) legislators want to defund libraries. Ignorant, low-info people grow up to vote for ignorant, bigoted politicians.

It's odd, because right across the State line, Iowa has one of the best public library systems in the nation. I suspect the upper Midwest states have placed a higher premium on education and libraries than Missouri.

Northeastern and Midwestern states account for most of America’s best library systems, with Vermont, Kansas, Iowa, Ohio, and Maine doing the best job of providing books, materials, outlets, and more to their residents.

The notion that libraries are dens of iniquity would have sounded nuts to them until it became a message on the Right, and so, having no minds of their own, they dutifully fell in line.

You voted for Biden didn't you? What's that say about you?
