Daniel Penny charged with manslaughter in Jordan Neely’s subway chokehold death

Then stop mentioning it. He was a terrorist and someone got very sick of his antics. The system, which is supposed to protect people from terrorists like him, failed at their job. This falls on their heads.

Here's the thing toodles: During a trial his rap sheet will come into play. But, at the time of the incident in question NO ONE INVOLVED KNEW OF HIS PAST POLICE RECORD. So his defense lawyer will have minimum use of that information.

And yes, the "system" did fail him....but keep in mind that it is the REPUBLICAN PARTY THAT HAS CONSISTENTLY VOTED AGAINST ANY ADDITIONAL FEDERAL FUNDING FOR MENTAL HEALTH FACILITIES FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC (state or federal).

Carry on.

These a-holes think Black people should be killed. End of story.

He was out of control and not only threatening people but saying that he was ready to die... that kind of behavior would be incredibly concerning don't you think?

His now outraged family knows... why didn't they do anything to help him until he put himself into another situation...one where he lost his life.... because he was threatening others and even threatening to cause harm to himself ..
It's unbelievable that the family actually said people didn't try to help him..
They weren't helping him..

I've seen other people devaluing Neely because he's homeless and presumably has mental issues. I have no issue with passengers restraining someone who's acting very irradicably, but if you accidentally kill them, that's a problem.
I hear from my daughter it’s a common occurrence and that most don’t hurt subway passengers, should they still be restrained?

why?....he was threatening subway passengers again.....

Lethal force is permitted to defend yourself or someone else against an immediate threat on their lives. Do you believe, based on the description of what happened, that an unarmed Neely was an immediate threat on someone's life, which would justify lethal force by Penny?

Yes. When you threaten serious bodily harm and have the means to do it it justifies the use of lethal force.

If they are threatening to kill people certainly they should be restrained. Should those that would hurt people not be restrained. And you never answered my question.

yes.....now fuck off and take Bragg with you.....HE caused this problem.....

I do not thing it was about being homeless. From reports, people left the subway car because they felt threatened.

How were they threatened? That’s the real question.

I’ve loved Subway cars because of the possibility of a threat, but I don’t think anyone deserve to be killed over it, or even put in a headlock

I used to live in NY and rode the subway daily. People running around threatening people often physically assault people. It is not speculative.

So if they haven’t laid a hand in anyone it’s ok to kill them?

What threats was Neely making?
