In the Senate, the blue dogs stopped the public option and it only took Joe Lieberman the Senator from Aetna to put an end to Medicare for people under 65 where they pay a premium.

There is no alternative. The GOP has been taken over by authoritarians, theocrats and war hawking neocons and is completely owned by corporations, polluters and lobbyists. They don't even try to hide it anymore.

The Democratic Party needs MORE progressives and fewer blue dogs. But unfortunate for America, it's not likely to happen in the near future and the Citizens United ruling will make that a chronic uphill climb. In this upcoming election, Republicans are receiving 8 times more funding than the Democrats. And some of it probably from foreign interests (Chamber of Commerce)

I have been around since Harry Truman was in the White House, and I've witnessed the takeover of government by corporate interests with NO allegiance to America or it's people. I see corporate funded think tanks that have created an echo chamber to attack any science that would affect their profits. They have even gone as far as trying to control language and use it to attack liberals, progressive and anyone else that does support the plutocracy conservatives created over the last 30+ years. Now the whole 4th estate is owned by 6 large corporations, so there is not a responsible watchdog looking out for We, the People.
