Crazy Trump's tariffs are backfiring on the U.S.

And to add, Clinton passed Nafta, while Obama proposed TPP, which met the scorn of the GOP and some Democrats.
Bernie was against TPP. Hillary supported it as Sec of State but then turned against as the candidate as she was getting pressure from her left flank and Trump's populism.

I've never made any such argument; stop lying. Tariffs are not a "big increase in costs"; they are quite small in the grand scheme of things.

First you need to get my argument correct and actually address MY argument.

Continued denial of history and of actual arguments presented.
You continue to demonstrate how little you know about business.

Tariff rates ranging from 20-35% are a huge increase in costs for almost all businesses.

These are not minor impacts companies can just eat.

...The Detroit Three automakers are taking a big hit from the Trump administration's tariffs, and industry experts say only one thing can stop the bleeding for the North American auto industry — a trade deal with low tariff rates for the industry.

General Motors, Ford and Stellantis have all reported tariff impacts in the billions on recent earnings calls.

Ford said on Wednesday that it took an $800-million US (about $1.1 billion Cdn) hit for the second quarter as a result of tariffs.

Ford CEO Jim Farley said the company is in daily contact with the White House, with an ultimate goal of reducing its tariff costs, especially on parts tariffs. "We see there's a lot of upside depending on how the negotiation goes with the administration," Farley said....

This is your issue, not mine. You also continue to demonstrate how little you know about tariffs.

They really aren't. Remember, they apply to WHOLESALE prices, NOT retail.

Yes they are, and companies DO eat them. Even numerous fake news leftist media sources are starting to admit that such is occurring.

"Industry experts say" ... :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
@IBDaMann , your "red flag density scan" catches all sorts of stupid/dishonest phrases like this, doesn't it?

"tariff impacts" :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

Do you know how many billions of dollars those companies rake in?? A couple billion is chump change. They could also manufacture their vehicles in the USA and pay ZERO tariffs.

Oh booooo hoooooooooooo :rofl2: :rofl2:
MANUFACTURE YOUR PRODUCT IN THE USA THEN!!!!

Had it come off China today wouldn’t be extending its influence and reach across the Far East and over the rest of the world today

You continue with your stupidity.

When steel or other things are tariff increasing the cost to manufacture a car that is NOT the wholesale price being affected. You do not even know what a wholesale price is you nitwit.

It this the COST OF GOODS that is being impacted.

And companies absolutely pass their costs on.

Tariffs are not magic. They are not the sole increase in cost of goods companies say 'these we will eat'. Tariffs are no different, in the companies considerations than any other cost increase. They add them all up and apply the margin and profit goals of the company on top.

Stupid WHOLESALE prices are what the retailer pays for the products they sell to you and the retailer will raise the price to you to keep their profit margin.
They like the manufacture, exporting countries, and anybody else that has to pay for these products in the supply chain may eat a part of these tariff some won't eat any of them and will pass them on to the US consumer.
And some may even tack on an extra percent or two to pad their bottom line.
And if an American manufacture like the US auto industry buys parts that have a tariff on them they will be increasing their price to cover the costs, the also have a profit margin.
In fact they have already had to increased their prices by 5 or 6 thousand dollars to keep their profit margin.
Trumps tariffs are too high and are only going to hurt the AMERICAN CONSUMER.

Had it come off China today wouldn’t be extending its influence and reach across the Far East and over the rest of the world today
I supported TPP and agree with the premise China’s influence would be less today if it did go through.

And once again:
And prices are already starting to increase and MAGAS are too stupid to realize it yet, and NOT all of Trumps tariffs have worked their way through the supply chain yet .
A lot of companies bought and stocked up on a lot of products and stored them before the Tariffs went on and they are starting to run out of them and the new higher cost goods will be hitting the shelves soon.
Maybe when Trumps tariffs start to bite them in the ass they will wake up.
A lot of them can't see that when the price of most everything you buy goes up they can effect other things, like if a landlord has increases in the upkeep of the house he rents he may pass those costs on to the person that rents it in higher rents and this could end up hurting the poor working class even more MAGAS included.
Tariffs as high as the ones Trump is putting on good are NOT good for the US economy.
I wonder what the next DEM will have to do to get us out of a recession / depression Trump is driving us into.
Republican Presidents drive us into Recessions and Dem Presidents have to get us out of them like they have the last 4 or 5 times.
