Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: Any player 'disrespectful to the flag' won't play

It is bold when you publicly call for action to economically harm your employer. Even liberal ESPN draws the line at that.

But just a couple of weeks ago you were touting the NFL's ratings being up.

At the end of the day this still all gets away from Kaepenicks original stared goal. His protests started after eight years of Obama. A democrat in the WH isn't going to change things alone

This should put to rest any illusion that BAC Panther has any intelligence. He and TTQ give blacks a bad name

There can be no lawsuit. As an employer Jerry Jones can make the players do anything within reason. If he wants them to stand for the anthem then they will stand. If he wants them wearing a shirt and tie to travel and give post game interviews then that is what they do.

If the NFLPA tries to call a strike over this they will be like the Teamsters and be responsible for killing the golden goose. These players need to realize that they are not bigger than the game.

Public opinion is not on BACs side and if he thinks it is he is even more deluded than I ever imagined. And has zero grip on reality.

I'm fine w/ the NFL drawing a line on it & enforcing their own policies.

If you're a big government person or socialist, it's a win for Trump for sure.

The NFL was already losing viewers on both sides prior to any of Trump's comments. I know people obsess with Trump but the league was going to have do something one way or the other even if Trump never spoke

LITTLE THINGY LIKES TO DEFINE WHO'S A SOCIALIST ABOUT WHOM HE CAN WHINE. THINGY SAYS DOPEY, THINGY SAYS HACK. SELF-AWARENESS IS SOMETHING THAT POOR THINGY LACKS.

This "private business" receives federal subsidies by not paying taxes.

They should lose all income they receive by the government. Or make them pay taxes.

This is exactly why Colin is protesting. Rich white men in power doing the fuck they want, not contributing to society by paying taxes. and not being held accountable.

Slave mentality by these owners. Do what I say or your fired.

I wish every NFL player walked off the field.

Hill took the bold step of responding to Jerry Jones by calling for a boycott of the Cowboys .. a move that had to reverberate throughout NFL owners on the potential for even more chaos .. and she got a two week vacation for it.

When the NFL owners meet and if they decide to side with Jones and Trump, more chaos, lower ratings, law suits, and NFLPA responses will ensue.

Note: when Jones took a knee with Cowboys players, TTQ said it was a meaningless gesture .. just Jones trying to save his own ass .. and she was right.

Exactly!

He got his ass chewed for kneeling a couple weeks ago even though it wasn't during the anthem. The powerful racist white got into his ass.

Make no mistake. This is about those Black players having the nerve to speak out while the white man is paying them a lot of money.

If people don't realize by now that Blacks can not protest about institutional racism anywhere, anyway, anyhow. Some whites will not listen, nor will they do anything about it. I have never seen people come out for Blacks like they did for the women's movement. That lets me know lots of people still don't care.

They make excuses like blocking the streets, disrespecting the flag, riots, breaking a windows, anything to stop Blacks from speaking out about injustice.

And sorry my friend, there are a lot of white people, non racist whites, who believe Blacks should shut the fuck up about protesting.

You're a fan of the game. Do you really think Kaep was affecting ratings? Is there anything out there to back that up? (I genuinely don't know on that).

Prior to Trump, the discussion that I heard about it from the talking heads focused more on CTE, and more importantly, on the quality of the product - which was abysmal at the start of the season, and isn't exactly that much better now.

I can't speak to how much of the ratings were affected by him. I really wish we had that type of detailed data. But there were some people who didn't want to watch because Kap was kneeling and some people who didn't want to watch because Kap wasn't being hired.

Thought this was a good article from The Undefeated (done prior to Trump's comments) addressing the protests from both sides.

But you aren't wrong either about people being turned off to the game because of CTE, off field behavior etc.

Kaepernick said he was protesting racism and injustice by the police against black people.

I didn't hear him, or any other players, saying they were protesting taxes as even the lowest paid players qualify for the 1%. And the reality is rich people do pay taxes. You may not feel they pay enough but the numbers bear out they pay the most.

Edit: TTQ64 and Trump on the same side going after the NFL for tax purposes. A sight to behold.

You can split all the hairs you want. But the fact remains that y’all were wrong about how this would play out when Trump first brought this up and I was right. In fact I was 100% right.

Whether you agree it is about the flag or the anthem or not is irrelevant. Enough people think it is and it has caused a branding problem for the NFL and they need it to just go away.

Isn’t it amazing how anti NFL BAC and TTQ are about all of this? They are lashing out like petulant little babies.

So what are BAC and TTQ going to demand that the NFL force players to kneel during the national anthem? Good luck with that.

Other than Antifa psychos, hating on the American Flag and National Anthem aren’t a winning marketing message.

BAC Panther and TTQ are way out of the main stream on this one and their anguish brings me joy

Trump isn't a dictator so he or the government can't force the NFL to do anything but pay their taxes.

What he can do, is the use the presidency as a bully pulpit and shame the NFL into doing something they should have done the moment Kap started with his antics.

If they don't like what he's saying, they could always quit. :eek2:

I wasn't wrong on nuthin'. All I said is that Trump should have kept his nose out of a private business's business, and I still say that.

It was political grandstanding, and it played great w/ his base. But it hurt a private business & further divided people, and that shouldn't be the goal of the Prez.

Just a couple of fallacies, within your logic.

No one's said that anyone can't protest anywhere, anyway, or anyhow; but they just need to do it on their own time and their own dime.

Are you saying that blocking the streets, riots, or breaking windows is an acceptable way of getting their points across?

At this point, seeing as how your logic appears to have deserted you, there really is no reason for anyone to try and debate you; because it's apparent that you have no clue about what you're complaining about.

I keep saying it - it was a dead issue. You keep talking about what the NFL "should have done" about Kap. Not sure if you watch the game, but Kap lost his job and was unemployed.

Trump just saw a great issue where he could accomplish some of his main goals: fire up the base, divide people, create conflict & distract from important issues. Like Puerto Rico - which he was talking about a few days ago like all of the relief efforts were done & everything was back to normal.

Here's a picture of NFL players protesting the number of people who have died from gun violence in Chicago.

I couldn't find any

The NFL hurt itself by not shutting this down from the get go. Trump saved the NFL from itself. They should thank him

People will forget about Kaepernick
