Court says woman with limited English can be kept off ballot

I see.
So you were never interested in the truth, you just wanted something else to bitch and moan about.

You could have explained that sooner and saved everyone a lot of time. :awesome:

I'd ask you to explain to everyone how my stating I don't need to come to AZ to appeal that woman's case leads you to conclude that I'm not interested in the truth, but we know you don't do explanations.

So very typical...USF doing what he does best. Making shit up off the top of his pointy little head...that way, he never has to deal with "facts" or "the truth".

I never said I didn't want the truth...I never implied as much...and your statement that I was never interested in the truth is just the latest in a never ending string of idiotic USF ASSumptions designed to draw attention away from USF's own stupidity.

If you had ANY evidence to back up your nonsense...you'd have posted it.

Thanks for admitting to everyone I was telling the truth and that you're just another petty liar.

:good4u:

Once again you reveal your lack of comprehension and instead try to rely on your failing cognitive skills to try and make yourself to appear to have something of importance to say. :palm:

Maybe you heard about this small border town in Arizona where the local good ol boys club is trying to keep an Hispanic woman off the city council by claiming...get this...she doesn't understand English to their satisfaction.

Sounds like a kinda hostile attitude to me.

:palm:

lol, you didn't notice who brought the law suit to block her candidacy did you.....

Mayor Juan Carlos Escamilla filed a court action asking for a determination of whether Cabrera has the English skills necessary to serve a four-year term.

This is bullshit, especially considering it is a bilingual town (well, practically a bilingual state).

Canada works fine with a bilingual government; someday, the same will be true of the US government. It is inevitable that the US will become a bilingual country.

Canada has always been a binational state. They don't really have much of a choice, besides division. However, in the US, everyone speaks English, and that's good. We don't want to be balkanized into a Spanish and English speaking zone. We should absolutely require people learn English to immigrate, and those who are already citizens who don't know it should be taught it in school. We only really have such a large population of non-English speakers because of illegal immigration. Now, I am not necessarily an opponent of immigration, but if immigration is to occur, it should be done in an orderly and lawful fashion.

The town's bilingual, she's not. It's rather simple, the french don't elect anyone who doesnt speak french no matter how many muslims are in their comunity, the germans don't elect people who don't speak german but speak great polish. If you want to serve publically, learn the language, then we'll elect you, but I don't want to walk into city all, ask for help and be denied because the people their don't speak english. Sorry guys this is still a majority english country.

Actually, the Germans do have a party for the Danish minority in their country:

Yep, you're right again; Yurt.

English speaking Americans have no right to expect to go down to their public buildings and when speaking to the clerks or anyone else hired to deal with the public, that those people should speak english.
It's the fault of the public, for not taking an interpretor with them.

There, do you feel vindicated?

you love straw don't you......

I did say it was a network of good ol BOYS who were working to keep her off the ballot...

Are you saying a Hispanic gentleman can't be a part of the "good ol boy" crowd?

actually....to be honest....you first said:

As to this topic...this woman is being railroaded by racists who don't want their little boys club ruined by some "immigrant".

do i need to underline the pertinent word for you?

better re-read your own posts.....you said the "good ol boys" were trying to keep an Hispanic off council.....if you had just said "woman" you wouldn't look like the fucking idiot you look like now......

aw' shucks, what am I saying......that's not true.....you'll always look like a fucking idiot.....

What a surprise...when PMP gets asked a very simple question, the pathetic Rightie ignores the very pertinent question put to him and reverts back to the petty taunts and insults...

What am I saying?

It's no surprise at all...merely SOP for Righties like PMP.

Does anybody know what Appeals Court this is in? I'm betting that this decision goes the way of the dodo bird.

Apparently, it isn't in any court. The Supreme Court of Arizona affirmed the decision. Unless the Supreme Court of the United States takes it, this is the end of the road for this lawsuit.

imagine if the government had spend 50% of its time helping this woman understand the language of the documents before her? Real efficient!

The Supreme Court has overturned attempts to limit voting to English speakers before. I'm not sure if they'd apply the same logic to office, though.

against another hispanic? how was the mayor racist against her?

Zappa had no idea that the Mayor was Hispanic, he just assumed that he was white because it fit within his worldview and made him feel superior.
