It opened up a serious discussion of the 4th amendment in terms of what is
"to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures"
Even Obama agreed on that much

Isn't that up the DOJ. Why is acting like the prosecutor? Investigators don't decide weather or not to charge.

He was obviously influenced by Lynch/Obama and told what to say.
 
Its obvious what happened. Bill got the go head from Obama to shut this email investigation down.

Bill meets with Loretta Lynch just a few days before Comey's grand announcement.

Comey decides against charges, even though gross negligence is quite clear.

Lynch orderd Comey to "not find" enough evidence, and to fall on the sword. Comey being a do as I'm told guy, follows the orders. The fix was and has been in for a while. This is no surprise.

The people on JPP who love Snowden are libertarians such as Grind and Billy (and possibly Rune?), and anti-government types such as STY and Robo. Conservatives such as myself and Cawacko, or Trumptards such as Tsuke, are not really fond of him. Admittedly, we appreciate some of the fallout, such as public attention to government excess in places like the NSA.

well that's not possible. he is not even allowed to use the public good as a defense. he'll get life in prison because he told us how the government is breaking the law.
 
Section 15.05 of the New York State Penal Law describes the culpable states of mind under which offenses are committed, known in Latin as the "mens rea." All states and the Feds have a similar section. In New York the culpable states of mind are intentionally, knowingly, recklessly, and with criminal negligence.

Comey imported a different mens rea to replace the one intentionally written into the federal statute. He's a cop, an important one for sure, but still just a cop. He's not a legislator.

This is one of the most corrupt manipulations of law I've ever seen, and being done in the open is just so brazen.

I can only think they believe the people are so complacent they can just make up their own laws as they go along.
