If the goal is impeachment, then it will not matter if Cohen is already in jail as they will have his written testimony.

It was Robert Mueller's input that Cohen's testimony was very useful to the Russian Probe.
It was the input from the SDNY that wanted hard time for not cooperating with them on several layers of ongoing investigations.
And it is only the reason why Cohen is facing 3 years now, was his decision to not work with the SDNY!
It was a personal choice that Cohen made himself with no one else to blame.
So, basically Cohen will be imprisoned in some Holiday Hotel Jail with all the comforts of home, where he will write his book, and make an instant 3 million dollars on it's sales while he is getting straight.
Yeah, that has to be it.
I was providing an alternate explanation. I am not claiming it is correct, but only a mindless sheep would deny it is possible..so I am sure you will.
The fact that the Prosecutors wanted to throw the book at Cohen indicates he has no more value.

Considering just how little you know about this investigation, you would be best to just keep your mouth shut. As it is, 3 years is nowhere close to throwing the book at him. I am sure he will continue his testimony in the hope of obtaining an even shorter sentence.
