Civil rights leader endorses Trump

The problem with Evers' endorsement is in what he says. He apparently isn't familiar with Trump's record.

He calls Trump a "businessman," but if you look at a history of Trump's business acumen, you'll find it wanting. Four business bankruptcies, failed companies and business ventures (do I really need to do the "Trump Vodka, Trump Steaks, Trump Mortgage..." list?), even the famed Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, NJ is closed, and that was at one time the Trump flagship.

Trump leaves in his wake failed businesses, bankrupted companies, and banks that are bilked out of millions of dollars as a result of Trump using bankruptcy as a "business tool."

He also says that Trump's tough stance on immigration doesn't make him a racist. That's true.

But the lassiez fair attitude he shows for white supremacists backing him, only denouncing the support of David Duke and the KKK after saying that he, "...know nothing about David Duke or the KKK," despite very clearly having made comments on David Duke in the past, and well, he doesn't know about the KKK? Is there anyone who hasn't heard about the Klan and what they are by the time they've hit junior high school (and often well before)? The fact that white supremacists show up at his rallies and strong-arm people out of the events while calling them "nigger" and "cunt"? That whole thing with his father and the Klan? His general acceptance of it all? That's what supports him being labeled as a racist.

So as much as I respect Charles Evers for the struggles that he and his brother have been through in their efforts to bring about equality for everyone, I have to say that it sounds very much like he has no idea who Trump is.

Evers didn't bite on the David Duke controversy, that seems like his main problem.

He gets credit for being objective about it. Have some problems with Trump, but his, supposed, soft-peddling of the Klan isn't one of them.

That is simply not true. The vast majority of conservatives call phony racism and interjecting race into an issue where there is no racism, is race baiting.

Cite your claim that conservatives refuse to accept racism in our society. I'll understand when you can't.

The term was coined by conservative media. Why is it that "mostly" the cons here use that term when racial issues are brought up? I put "mostly" in quotes because I don't recall liberals using that term on the race threads but anything's possible.

Okay. Does this counter my point? I really don't understand what point you are trying to make, other than, most conservatives don't race bait like most democrats.

Did you miss my point which addressed this comment: "The truth is, liberals create racist propaganda, and encourage racial hatred."

Nothing in my posts or cites claimed that Democrats race bait more than cons, that's your imagination. You must agree with the OP because you haven't argued against it.

You said nothing about that in your post. Moving goal posts I see.

The OP stated a fact that a civil rights leader supports Trump. and that it is not a good sign for race baiters. What is there to argue?

The point that the term "race baiters" is a conservative construct to shut down a legitimate conversation. The term wasn't used in the article yet the OP felt compelled to bring it up.
