Joe Biden took his granddaughter to the movies in Georgetown last night.....on his way out he stopped to speak w/ a homeless man. A bystander took this candid shot. Character is about what you do when no one is watching.

Ummm, someone WAS watching you idiot. That's why there's a picture. Are we to believe Joe's Secret Service detail let this person get that close to snap this pic, and that this wasn't staged? Sorry, but that stretches my credulity to the point of breaking.

George Bush has saved millions of African lives from the ravages of AIDS .. and he did it quietly, while no one was watching.

GUILT for killing a million Iraqi men, women and CHILDREN? Too little too late!

Forgot some of those pesky details! Bush promised BONO the funds and the 'quietly' failed to follow through. In fact I believe Bono went back to him a second time, to 'remind' him. Finally, when his 'christian' brethren told him it was the right thing to do, he seemed more 'motivated'!

Any bells? Or did you CONVENIENTLY forget that part of the story?? I suggest you QUIT blowing smoke up our keyboards.

Excerpted from a Bono interview by PBS

Talk about your meetings with President Bush in March 2002. ... Going into the Oval Office, what case did you make to him? We've got footage of you coming out, saying he called AIDS a genocide.

The first time I met President Bush was really to thank him for this $10 billion Millennium Challenge, new approach to AIDS, by rewarding countries that tackle corruption and have poverty-reduction programs in place. A very smart idea -- underfunded still, I might add. It doesn't have the impetus that it should have, but a very good idea. I was there to thank him for that.

But while I was thanking him, I wanted to impress upon him how important the AIDS emergency was in affecting the outcome of development. And he was very well informed about it. I was surprised that he knew as much as he did, because I wasn't there to talk about that. I mean, that wasn't on the schedule.

But he was very interested, and then he described it himself as a genocide. Now, I love the word "genocide," because as ugly a word as it is, it implies complicity, right? Genocide happens because of other people. It's not an accident. I think others in the White House were nervous that he used that word, but I of course used the word, and I'm still using it. I told him later, I said, "Thank you for that word." And he said, "Well, I just meant it in terms of scale, you know." I said, "Well, I like to use it, because it's a very emotive term." So he was helpful there.

To be fair to President Bush, after a series of meetings and after the conservative Christians got busy, … and after a lot of people right across the NGO [non-governmental organization] community also got busy, he really responded, and he responded in a way that no one could ever have imagined.

This is a very cynical response but should we give him a trophy? I mean it's great he spoke to the guy but is it special? The cynicism comes from living where I do where you interact with homeless people on a daily basis. When I walk with my daughter I have her wave at (some) homeless people when we pass them. They often smile and wave back. It's a nice gesture but it's nothing special and it happens every day. Now I realize many people live and work in places where they don't interact with homeless so maybe this act stands out more.

You are right, on the scale of good deeds this is pretty minor.

But it really was more than just smiling and waving, as you suggest. I really do not think that, in the modern era, this nation has had many Vice Presidents that would stop and talk to a homeless person like a real human being. To give them some dignity and empathy. Which is exactly the sense I get from those photos. There seems to be a back story, in which perhaps Biden was helping the guy out is some tangible way. Who really knows? I am a firm believer in trying to not pat yourself on the back or to advertise and crow your deeds and achievements. And I doubt Biden will ever talk about what exactly transpired.

You are right...not the biggest deal in the word....just a nice photo and an unusual moment for an American Vice President.

Former Vice Presidents and their families only have 6 months of SS protection... So unless Sec. of Homeland Security extended it, Uncle Joe doesn't have current SS protection.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Secret_Service

Former Vice Presidents, their spouses, and their children under 16 years of age, for up to 6 months from the date the former Vice President leaves office (the Secretary of Homeland Security can extend the protection time)

I disagree with all that .. Bono is free to his own opinions.

PEPFAR would not exist without George Bush, and PEPFAR has saved millions of African lives.

Perhaps you conveniently forgot about that.

good on Joe. He's a good Catholic, and a good man. He used to be a sensible politician as well-
I supported him before anyone else in '08 ( before he dropped out)

Except someone IS always watching and it appears someone WAS watching or there wouldn’t be a picture

God liberals are such stupid people that fall for all sorts of political stage craft.

I bet you thought Hillary’s walk in the woods was impromptu as well

How was his Character, when he LIED about the man involved in the car crash that killed his wife?

What e

All a LIE, the guy was not drunk and his wife ran a stop sign into the path of this guys truck!

Some Character slander and lie about the man that his wife pulled in front of

Sad. I have no idea why he said that. There is zero indication the guy was drinking. Maybe he was STILL looking for reason than randomness. None us knows. AND he'll have to live with that if it was politics!! Or did someone know something else?

When a man hit me with his truck and knocked me up in the air about 10 ft. as I was walking to get on a bus to go to church on a Sunday morning. The driver was never charged and he was drinking. I stepped in his path. I was 8. Our neighbors said the man was drinking and was so distraught, he asked for coffee. This was in the late 50's and they gave it to him! No breathilizers then.

I've often wondered...

Apparently someone was watching unless you're going to claim the camera took its own picture.

I'm not sure the claim that no one was watching is accurate. Maybe Bourbon thought the camera turned itself on and took its own picture.

Liberals do the same thing related to guns. They blame it as if it can grow legs/arms, walk to where it fires, and pull its own trigger.,

Hey GENIUS, VEEPS don't get SS detail after 6 months unless there is specific threat.

I ask again? WTF LIE about this shit?

DL you think TRUMP interacts with homeless people? Yeah, right!

Why do keep harping on religion. Hypocrisy is part of "religion" also and it was and is still wrong. How many times do you want to see the disgusting pictures of Biden pawing little girls in the White House?

That's wonderful...OK? Biden talked to a homeless person, very nice of him to do that. OK?

You are one SICK minded pathetic human to even suggest it. You got NOTHING and you are flailing. I could fill and derail this thread with photos of BIDEN touching everyone, every gender, every age, ever color. That's JOE!

Don't bother. I've seen them. There is something wrong with someone who would see those photos of an older man, surrounded by other adults in a very public place, KNOWING his photo was being taken -- as some evidence he's a molester. In simpler terms, the fault is in the eye of the beholder, not in what is being beheld.

As I said, you should be questioning the message, not the messenger.

You said that so much nicer than what I could muster!

(PS He's IRISH, 'we' do that!).

I wonder if this was circulated among the SICKO wingers??

There was more than one thread here just on this site since I've been here, calling Biden a molester. The "proof" was various photos and videos of him touching kids. Every single one was, of course, in public with dozens of other ppl around. In some the kids looked uncomfortable but it was impossible to determine whether that was from the situation of being forced to dress up and play nice in an unfamiliar place, or because some kindly gent had his hand on their shoulders.

Again, anyone who sees something evil in that should probably be examining their own critical thinking skills and asking why it's so important to believe that Biden is a molester. My opinion is that they're afraid.... that if he runs, he'll win.
