The conditions which lead to the disease can be explained in a short paragraph: if you are a gay male or IV drug abuser you are in a high risk category for HIV. It is what it is. But if you want to engage in these behaviors in spite of the risks, practice safe sex and/or don't share needles.

If the CDC wants to cut down on the incidence of HIV, I would suggest starting in public schools. Just tell them the truth and leave the agenda out of it.

Lack of access is up there. Most people with HIV are only going to know they don't feel well. I doubt that fear of bigots at the clinic or ER factors into it, lol. Especially, since they won't be aware they've contracted it until after blood tests.

It's pretty ridiculous, actually. But HIV has been politicized and the CDC has apparently been infected with it. We live in an age of politicized government agencies.

The CDC brief also claims “income inequality” could one of the factors driving high HIV rates in the South. The CDC does not suggest individual lifestyle choices as a possible factor resulting in high HIV rates.

This isn’t the first time the CDC has sought to blame “stigma” for high HIV rates.

As reported by The Daily Caller last month, the CDC claimed that the high HIV rate–28 percent–among transgender women (biological men) is due in part to the “stigma” faced by transgender people.

but it leaves open the question of phobia or access, or ignorance as the prime factors..
