Blacks are lower than Irish in the eyes of lots of whites, it's silly to think otherwise.

I never saw an Irishman hanging from trees and I don't hear the kkk threatning to kill Irish people.

Two facts that you apparently do not know.
1. The Irish were enslaved by the English for centuries and brought to America by them before Africans.
2. The KKK was the terrorist wing of the Democrat Party, created to terrorize Republicans, regardless of color. Many white Republicans in The South were of Scots and Irish descent.

I think he was being a bit sarcastic and simply mocking the Irish. I don't think they were ever treated anywhere near as poorly as slaves, but they were deemed second class citizens (still better than a slave). In many cases they came as indentured servants. While you can certainly find examples of indentured servants being treated worse than slaves, it was more the exception than the rule.

You think too narrowly, with out a proper reference for time and biology. It will happen in time....maybe not now nor maybe 100 years from now but in time it will happen. It always does.

TTQ...the obvious escapes you. I'm joking about the Irish. I say it only to be self-deprecating and as a running joke when I hear the wingnuts on here making racist comments about people I'll say "Meh...it's not like they're Irish" and the reason I say that is that I'm being self deprecating (I'm of Irish descent)...well that and I stole the joke from Richard Pryor. :)

To state the obvious assimilation is the answer to racism. The question is how long does it take and what work needs to be done to change minds.

I would prefer that blacks not automatically claim racism every time they don't get what they whine about. I don't expect most of them to ever stop. It's the go to excuse. Until they change their ways, they'll continue to fall behind all other groups.
