California is hopeful right now. As a California resident, there is more hope here than there has been in decades. Whether serendipity or fate, the fires in Malibu and Palos Verdes broke the back of the radical left. We have a couple of local radio hosts, John and Ken on KFI (haven't listened to them in years, not sure if they are still on - Sirius spoiled me) who spent over a decade exposing Karen Bass as the scumbag she is. But it was the fires that finally did her in. Not only her, but the Democrat power structure.

At the same time, Riverside Sheriff Chad Bianco has risen as a popular star. There is a very high chance he will be our next governor - especially if the Marxists run Kamala Harris. See, Bass took down Katie Porter and Villaraigosa with here - they are all part of the same gang - or cell as it might be.

There is a definite rightward shift in the state. The normals are empowered to stand up to the rulers. I strongly believe we will have an actual Republican, conservative governor in 2027.

I'd say, whatever the reason(s) you want to use, Democrat run and dominated states with large populations are losing population and will decline in numbers of Representatives for the foreseeable future.

As for gerrymandering, both parties practice it, and if anything the Democrats are far more malignant in its use.

I lived in California for four years, at Beale AFB, back in the early 80s, and my sister still lives in San Jose.


By her descriptions of what is happening in California, even if the state takes a huge turn to the right over the next few years, the damage is done. The homeless and illegals are driving people from the state who are the producers, and the high tech companies are leaving with them.


Even with a Conservative Government rises in 2027, it will take decades to rebuild, and that has to be done, saddled with enormous State-Debt.


The State of California may be forced to declare bankruptcy, and default on their bonds and debts. California going Conservative now, may be too little, too late.

Several thoughts there, first, the population trends are shrinking, in fact, NY has seen an increase. Second, as the Boomers age, there are more snowbirds, exiles who return ever Spring and Summer

But most relevant, many of those exiting are taking their politics with them, it is no mystery that yesterday’s ruby red Republican States as Georgia and North Carolina are now swing States

All true - but the sooner we start rebuilding, the sooner we will finish.

When I moved to Yorba Linda, Orange County was a conservative mecca. Over the years, Santa Ana and Stanton have become little more than illegal alien refugees and pushed us to the left. BUT Huntington Beach, Garden Grove, and Yorba Linda remain as solid conservative enclaves. Since the election, we have found our voice, particularly HB.


Bianco is a good start. No one is deluding ourselves that we will have majorities in the Assembly or Senate, but we expect gains. There actually IS a California Republican party again.
 
Things won't get significantly better for California, until they accomplish massive illegal deportations. The costs of supporting them at public expense all by itself will prevent any return to fiscal sanity and balanced budgets.


Estimates are there are around 4 Million Illegals in California, each costing the state around $65K a year. That's $260B a year.


Getting the deportations done during the remainder of the Trump2 Admin, means doing 100K deportations a month, for 40 Months, just in just California.

They killed Colorado, it isn't even purple anymore it's deep blue. In 2000 I would have said red state, in 2008, I would have said purple, but by 2012 the state became entirely blue. This is due to what the press called the "Gang of Four" and to folks leaving California and moving to Colorado.
