California Teachers Union Draws Fire for Rallying Behind Cop Killer Mumia Abu-Jamala

I thought Jarod was a lightweight as a lawyer. Yurt who makes slingblade look like he has a long attention span is the icing on the idiot lawyer cake.

You could have just acknowledged that I never said that people are not entitled to their opinion, but that would be the honest thing to do. And we all know how you and honesty get along.

really fibberfish...really

yeah, in nigel's world poop and shit mean two different things....other people also took your post to mean that and took your other posts to mean that...but oh no...its just dear ol' yurt...nigel must split hairs with his electron microscope

who pee'd in your cheerios this morning?

and once again...more logical fallacy, and now appeal to authority....why do you want to claim they are smarter than me? see...your problem is, you want to believe your sources are smarter, but if someone disagrees with your liberal sources, then its them who believing they are smarter. not the case....i've read up on the case, and the facts are overwhelming.

as to the fair trial....he took it all the way to scotus....and lost. do you know why? and can you stop having other people tell you what to think and do your own research. i would be interested in YOUR opinion once you've read up on the case. is that too difficult? you always demand others read your links....yet here....you refuse to read anything about this case and instead rely on what others say.

Really Yurt. I posted an article on a whole book written on the case that raises questions if he received a fair trial. But you will only ACCEPT articles from sources that say he's guilty. Otherwise, I am not thinking for myself. The truth is I will not not conform to YOUR thinking, so it is invalid.

You didn't answer my question; 'If he didn't get a fair trial, are you OK with that Yurt?'

So, let's get this straight; people all over the world smoke hash, crack etc....tookie in california had supporters too....and people who abhor violence and especially abhor gun violence are all behind a person convicted of gun violence.

lmao....i actually read about the FACTS of the case from non biased sources...you should read the wiki link...they actually give cites and if you follow those cites you'll open your eyes...

i did answer your question....he got a fair trial, if not, then i'm not ok with it. but it has been dealt with all the way up to scotus....you only want to accept scotus cases when they fit your agenda....your book is NOTHING but opinion that is he is innocent, yet you want to slam me for reading only opinions he is guilty....

pull the plank of out of your own eye.

and i wonder why onceler and SF aren't all over you not calling this guy a murderer when he confessed.....

Dr. Anthony Coletta who was with Jamal from the moment he entered the emergency room said he made no confessions to him or anyone else.

The bullet removed from the police officer was 44 caliber. Jamal's gun is a 38 caliber.

The guy is as guilty as they come...so why argue with this moron?

the 44 cal has been debunked...and there are more witnesses than the doctor....did the prosecution use the doctor?

btw...jamal has said much about the case after his sentence....can you find me one quote where he says he did not shoot faulkner or that he is innocent?

The bullet fragments removed from Faulkner were consistent with a 38. Jamal told ER personnel that he had shot Faulkner and that he hoped he was dead...Jamal's brother, who never testified, but was present at the scene, told first responders "I had nothing to do with it"...not "my brother is innocent".

Debunked by WHO? The medical examiners report (autopsy) said it was a 44 caliber wound. The doctor was THERE. He said Jamal gave no confession.

You right wing slime believe EVERYTHING the authorities say as gospel. Cops are saintly creatures that have wear a halo...A cop was shot and killed. Do you REALLY believe there was a chance someone wouldn't pay for that crime, even if they had to frame someone?

You are not only an authoritarian follower, you are a naive fool.

A .38 caliber Charter Arms revolver, belonging to Abu-Jamal, with five spent cartridges was retrieved beside him at the scene. He was wearing a shoulder holster, and the shell casings and rifling characteristics of the weapon were consistent with bullet fragments taken from Faulkner's body.[36] Tests to confirm that Abu-Jamal had handled and fired the weapon were not performed, as contact with arresting police and other surfaces at the scene could have compromised the forensic value of such tests.[37][38]

i have mild fun arguing this kind of stuff....

Really? It doesn't seem like you do. It seems like you get really agitated, and start hurling the same insults & stomping your feet & whining up a storm.

It's funny looking at some of these other threads; you have essentially the same conversation w/ everyone...

can someone explain to me why onceler begged me to ignore him, i do....yet he can't stop attacking me and talking about me

is it obsessive yurt love or OCD?

my post vs. bfgrn's post....and who does onceler attack as hurling insults, stomping their feet.....
no, not bfgrn.....dear ol' yurt

and especially when he replied to a post that merely said: i enjoy arguing this kind of stuff (that made onceler mad!!!!)

10 bucks bfgrn simply attacks the link and ignores the facts in the link

He can attack it all day long...but those ARE THE facts of the case. What you have from people like bfgrn, are the products of decades long spinning of the facts. That spin has been created and it is not the facts. All the spin put out into the public sphere, basically by Mumia himself, has been debunked and THAT is why all of his attempts at appeals have come to no avail.

did you notice how bfgrn IGNORED my question asking him if jamal ever denied he committed the crime or maintains his innocence in all his writings since his incarceration....he writes a lot about injustice, but i don't think he has ever said he is innocent outside of the courtroom. kind of interesting...most innocent people behind bars, talk about nothing else but their innocence...and his brother was there i believe....and he chose NOT to testify on behalf of jamal

His brother was driving the car that got pulled over. His statement at the scene was "I had nothing to do with it" not "my brother is innocent". He did not testify for the defense or prosecution.

California Teachers Union Draws Fire for Rallying Behind Cop Killer Mumia Abu-Jamala

A California teachers union is under fire after passing a new resolution supporting a convicted cop killer.

The California Federation of Teachers (CFT) last month passed a resolution reaffirming their support for Mumia Abu-Jamal, who was sentenced to death in the 1982 murder of Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner during a routine traffic stop.

In the resolution, the CFT alleges Abu-Jamal’s trial was unfair and calls the former radio journalist a civil rights hero.

But a critic says evidence in the case shows Abu-Jamal was clearly guilty and that the teachers union should be focusing on California’s education issues, not the 30-year-old conviction of a cop killer in Philadelphia.

...

Mumia Abu-Jamal’s 1982 trial in Philadelphia was characterized by illegal suppression of evidence, police coercion, illegal exclusion of black jurors and unfair and unconstitutional rulings by the judge," the CTF resolution reads.

The resolution also describes the former Black Panther as a civil rights hero saying, "Mumia Abu-Jamal has for decades as a journalist fought courageously against racism and police brutality and for the human rights of all people…the continued unjust incarceration of Mumia Abu-Jamal represents a threat to the civil rights of all people."

But Daniel Flynn, Author of "Cop killer: How Mumia Abu-Jamal conned millions into believing he was framed," said the facts of Abu-Jamal’s case were "overwhelming"

You had numerous eye witnesses seeing him actually kill the cop. He was found at the scene with his gun, registered in his own name, with five expended shells. The cop actually shot him, so he had a bullet from the cop, and, in addition to all this, you have numerous eye witnesses reporting that he confessed to killing the cop, including one of his sympathizers," Flynn told Fox News. "…Except on the fringes there isn’t much of a debate on this guy’s guilt."

another black eye for unions....seriously, why is CTF even getting involved in this? i would be pissed if i was a CTF member...this has nothing to do with protecting teachers, not even remotely

It's pretty weird that they'd pass a resolution like this.
