It's silly to argue as you are about restricting the rights of others, and then invoke that you are a 'free American' - as though that means anything at all in the context of your arguments.

You're a shifty one. First it's "society," then it's "our laws," then it's "Christ", then it's "our heritage."

Our heritage is freedom & liberty, for all. That's what our laws are based on; that's what our society is about. You are looking for nothing but justification for your bigoted & intolerant stance, which flies in the face of freedom for all.

But lets be realistic, religious views are not the issue. This is an issue for the gov't, which does not favor any one religion over another or over no religion.

Not at all. I am a christian. I just know how some who also profess to be christians can be. If you doubt that you have only to look at the nutballs that are out there protesting military funerals with the "God Hates Fags" signs.

I was not making demeaning remarks about christians, but about those who choose to meddle in people's lives with that holier than thou attitude.
