Canceled
I'd stop getting all panicky and sweaty-palmed if I were you.
Nobody in Washington, London, Berlin, or Paris are going to let BP collapse, or fine them into extinction. That's not the way the world works. The leaders in all our governments go to great pains to make sure the corporate multinationals are well protected, even if they get a public spanking once in a blue moon. That's just how the world works, bro.
Your british tabloids have got you in a panic, and I can see from a business perspective how its in their best interest to manipulate you. It probably sells and is good for profits.
I see that you have steadfastly failed to address any of the issues raised, yet you claim to be a rational and objective poster. All you bang on about is British tabloids and evil multinationals, the world is a lot more complex than the one that Greenpeace portrays.
When Union Carbide and Occidental Petroleum pony up some decent compensation for the vast damage caused by Bhopal and Piper Alpha, then I will be more receptive to the blinkered approach shown by this relatively minor incident. The real problem, in my view, is that the US media were obsessed with the amount of oil released and totally ignored how little actual damage actually occurred.
