I see that you have steadfastly failed to address any of the issues raised, yet you claim to be a rational and objective poster. All you bang on about is British tabloids and evil multinationals, the world is a lot more complex than the one that Greenpeace portrays.

When Union Carbide and Occidental Petroleum pony up some decent compensation for the vast damage caused by Bhopal and Piper Alpha, then I will be more receptive to the blinkered approach shown by this relatively minor incident. The real problem, in my view, is that the US media were obsessed with the amount of oil released and totally ignored how little actual damage actually occurred.

I've noticed that even some nasty American tabloids have started to say that the whole was hyped and overblown.

I have absolutely no problem with BP paying its share of the cleanup but all we have seen over the last few months is the other companies involved diving for cover. I might remind you that there hasn't even been a fucking inquiry yet, so what happened to due process? I can't even begin to imagine what would have happened if Piper Alpha has occurred in the Gulf, it would have treated like another 9/11.

Oh and by the way, I just bought £500 worth of shares in BP.

A few pelicans get oiled up? Look, I understand your nationalism. I really do. But this disastor dumped tens of millions of gallons of oil on over 600 miles of coastline in 4 states. The wetlands in Louisianna are the basis for so much of the foodchain. The fact that some was scooped up and most has been covered in a chemical that makes it sink to the bottom doesn't change the fact that it happened and did huge amounts of damage.

And the fact that you make that statement, followed by the accusation that WE don't give a shit is laughable.

I'm sorry that this incompetence of BP is embarrassing to you. But to defend them by claiming there was little or no damage is just fucked up.
 
Blow and suck are interchangeable for trashing something and inferring that it is of inferior quality, but they still retain their separate dictionary definitions when used literally.
