Boehner: take the offer!

Well, good for you, either way, you pay more

If we rework the tax system to a flat tax or the Fair Tax we would all pay less. But taxing corporations is simple a hidden tax on us.

i don't believe that simply lowering corp taxes will bring down consumer prices. corps will simply keep the prices where they are. and raising taxes on corps does not always mean they raise their own prices. look at wal mart etc....the age old axiom is not true in all cases.

When would you like to do that?

Froggie, I was not trying to ruin your rant. But personal taxes and corporate taxes are different issues and different problems. If you tax the CEO of GE you tap his finances. If you tax GE they consider it a business expense and pass it on to the customers.
Its just about impossible to get people that have been educated by Jon Stewart, the daily KOS, and the HuffingtonPost to understand your point....

They understand that treating people without health insurance cost the taxpayers more...
They have no problem believing that lower tax rates for the rich cost the rest of us more...

Yet are mystified when you say

That not drilling for our own oil is costing us more
That paying the medical bills for 50,000,000 more citizens will unaffordable
That a $14 trillion debt will destroy the economy
etc.

Walmart use the same tax laws as GE...whats your point.....

Yes dear...it IS just the Dems....Conservatives have been trying to get a flat tax for at least the last 30 years.....did you have your head under a rock?

I would need to see proof that the flat tax is supported by the Republican party, thanks, there may be a few libertarian leaning Republicans, but overall, the GOP does not support a flat tax., but if you show me differently, I will believe you.

No guts, no glory!

You would need to see proof you have a brain, but we don't take that seriously either.

And what you think matters because?

No one but a Homophobic old Racist takes you seriously...oh, and a dried up three-time loser who couldn't keep a man if her life depended on it, so maybe you should work on your own credibility.

No fair taxes are also a way. We are a rich nation whose rich ride on the back of the lesser people's. We have been bamboozled into thinking we are on the verge of collapse, ala Kock Brothers and the rest of the evil empire!

this is a pile of steaming cow dung, only for the fact that people not educated in economical politics refuse to believe that BOTH parties favor big business and tailor all business laws in favor of their supporters. blaming the Koch brothers alone is moronic and hacktastic.

The Kock brothers are the posters boys at the moment, and apparently you don't read my other post, but carry on your rant, anyway.

Its okay, we all have our senior moments!

i read your other post, but i pointed you out specifically because YOU want to paint the Koch brothers as the poster boys at the moment, when in fact, what you did was purposefully obfuscate the dems responsibility by ignoring any possible direct contact with an outside party. that's why i called it hacktastic.

and the only reason that the koch brothers are the main poster boys is the establishment political arena are desperate in their endeavor to paint libertarianism as radical everything.

I'd like it if the Democrats were willing to cut $61 billion (hell, I'd like them to cut much more than that), but the fact of the matter is, it is not politically realistic at this point. If the government shuts down, I suspect Democrats will hold their ground. By the time Republicans compromise, they will be on the receiving end of the blame.

It's a fucking miracle that Democrats are willing to cut a dime of spending. Republicans should take the offer and instead focus on the 2012 election.

I think Boehner would take the offer if he could, but he isn't sure his caucus will accept it so he can't. Imagine if he accepted a deal, brought it to the House floor for a vote and it failed because the Republicans voted against it. Who do you think the public would blame for a shutdown under those circumstances?

WHAT OFFER ??? There is no offer from the Democrats.......why the hell do you keep repeating that shit.....

The right wants 60 billion cut and the left wants 4 billion......what the hell is a respectable offer....

Why don't Harry take to offer ?

The Democrats have moved up to $33 billion but I haven't seen anything that the Republicans have agreed to by way of compromise.

House passes measure to keep government open another week

President Obama has threatened to veto the measure, which funds the Department of Defense through September and pays for an additional week of government operation — with $12 billion in cuts. Democrats seek a one-week extension at existing spending levels.

Whats that tell ya...????????????????

is it a legitimate offer?......have they presented a specific plan or just said "yeah, we'll find something to cut, somewhere, someday".......
