Not to get to off track here but Im no fan of the big mega churches either. All that money spent on a building.....Money that could have been much better spent helping the people. A simple church to gather is all that is needed. God is not impressed by a building...LOL,....he created EVERYTHING.

All I did was point out that you called yourself atheist on the basis of your alleged Daoism. Which is actually a contradiction.

I myself find some aspects of Daoism appealing, I have spent some time studying the Daodejing, the Zhuangzi, and Daoist philosophy. That is the correct spelling by the way, in the Pinyon transliteration of Chinese. Taoism is the old Romanized version of transliteration. It's the same reason we write Beijing now instead of Peking. Because Piyon transliteration has supplanted Roman transliteration.

Even though I find Daoism appealing at some level, I have always been skeptical of westerners, particularly Hollywood stars, attempting to co-opt Eastern metaphysical practices and twist it into something that fits into an American lifestyle and context.

That is another thing. My denomination does not build expensive opulent churches. We build modest functional churches. Like stone said the money is better spent on helping people.

The spelling is irrelevant. I don't care if it's called Gaoism or Chaoism, or FuckOffaoism. It's the belief and more so, the practice that are what's important.

It's why I go to Oriental Healing Arts about once a week. We meditate, practice Qigong, (I'm sure you'll try to correct me on the spelling of that too *roll eyes*)Taichi, some Wushu and get the occasional wisdom of Tao Shih Pei Wo Lun.
All the instructors visit China once a year for additional training. OHA is the real thing.

Aside:
When me and the Mrs. visited Vietnam several years ago and spent the night on a boat on Halong Bay we had an instructor that led the tourists in 10 form Yang TaiChi. I was the only one that could keep up with him effortlessly, with a couple of variations of course. He was so impressed, him and I did a demonstration together of Chen style after he figured out what I could and couldn't do.

Ive said many times in here that we have been in a state of war for a few years already. As of now we have a treasonous traitor sitting in the White house working for team Chicom. There will be hell to pay when we regain total control again. .

I was amazed by the 24Ft tide in the Cook inlet . We were fishing for halibut and they used a 4 wheel drive tractor to trailer launch out boat. I wondered why, then when we came back the tide was out and our truck and trailer was 1/4 mile away from the water's edge and there were boulders the size of Greyhound buses completely exposed. Those boulders were completely submerged when the tide was in. I'd be living in Alaska if I did not have grandkids here.

We have talked about this.... I see no evidence that the largely ignorant coward Americans will put down this Revolution anytime soon, the future is the Empire.

Let us be very clear on one point, this is a calamity, it pains me that my fellow Americans suck this badly now.

Also, I have been hard on the alarms since the mid 80's.

I did my part.
