That's not what you said.

You said you were an atheist. That means you don't believe in any gods or divinities, and as a matter of colloquial speech it also generally is meant to insinuate you are not religious.

Daoism is both a religion, and it has divinities as practiced by the people who invented it.
 
There has always been a tendency in the West for people who want to co-opt Eastern metaphysical practice, and try to make it an atheist philosophy of life by striping out the religious context the people who actually invented it practice.

I have just always been mildly amused when westerners try to co-opt Eastern metaphysical practice, and turn it into something it's not --> an atheist philosophy of life.

There are plenty of genuine atheist philosophies of life out there, existentialism, arguably epicureanism, etc. to pick from.

I have always had the same opinion. This is just the first preacher thread that I have seen. You notice I never said a word about this particular preacher being black. In fact the preacher is black makes no difference to me. I have contempt for virtually all TV preachers regardless of color who get wealthy by preaching. As I said Jesus never got wealthy from preaching and he is our example. So shut the hell up. You are barking up the wrong tree. BTW YOU are the one who injected race into this discussion about preachers who enrich themselves on God's money.

That is the reason my denomination collects funding for preachers on the national level and pays all preachers the same down to the local church level. n That allows local preachers to not have to step lightly around a major contributor in a local church. They don't have any control on what the preacher earns. Tithe goes to the national church and pays preachers and missionaries etc. . The local church expenses for electricity, water, building maintenance, etc is a separate offering.

Real men of God dont wear bling....they give to the poor and work tirelessly spreading the gospel. I myself am fed up sick of false teachers like the one who was robbed. Actually he was robbed while in the process of ROBBING! :laugh:
