A Black man has been charged with fatally shooting two White strangers in the back of the head in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as part of what authorities are calling a racially motivated hate crime.

Carlton Gilford allegedly shot and killed two men to whom he did not have any connection on April 18, according to the Tulsa Police Department.

Police said Gifford, who according to jail records is homeless, went inside the Rudisill Library around 9:40 a.m., walked up behind a man sitting at a desk, and shot him in the back of the head.

The victim, 35-year-old Lundin Hathcock, was rushed to the hospital where he died.

After the library shooting, police said, Gifford went to a nearby QuikTrip convenience store and shot 55-year-old James McDaniel in the back of the head. When the victim fell to the ground, the suspect shot him again. McDaniel died at the scene.

Police said that surveillance video showed Gilford also fired shots at a security guard and another person outside the QuikTrip. When officers arrived, Gilford was standing outside the store and admitted that he shot two people, according to the department.

Gilford was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of shooting with intent to kill, and one count of malicious intimidation or harassment.

The latter charge is Oklahoma's version of a hate crime. Under Oklahoma law, there is no specific hate crime statute, but malicious intimidation or harassment includes targeting someone based on their race. ..........................

Here's a homework assignment for ya, toodles: Go through your local newspaper for a week, then see how many such crimes are noted on your local TV and your affiliate Big 3 stations. Then check to see the same for out of state crimes, like in NYC or Los Angeles. Chances are ALL the nasty goings on in NYC aren't making your local 6:00 pm news.

I shouldn't have to explain this to you, but you do demonstrate either a willful or true ignorance as to how things work in the news media.

:palm: Okay, it's obvious our Maga Chicken Little prefers his own version of reality to what is in the chronology of the posts. Either that or he lacks a high school G.E.D. in English Composition. He claims things that are NOT in my posts, but only in his mind (either that or he's a very poor liar). His "proof" or justification is that neither the article or my posts use the term "hate crime" (I kind of thought that was self evident). Usually in such cases, the reporters wait for word from the police chiefs/commissioner or the DA's office if they are charging the perp with such. But sheet wearing schmucks like our little chicken just can't wait, and lash out with their sense of "white identity" violated. And as we see, anything this joker clucks he considers bonafide logic and fact. :rolleyes:

Interestingly I read a couple of different news reports that "failed" to mention the shooter's race. These same news outlets lead with the race of the shooter with White on Black crime.

Now check and see how many people are murdered SOLELY because of the color of their skin. The fact that this is a HATE CRIME makes it noteworthy. Why are you trying to sweep it under the rug.

Who said anyone's crimes should just be ignored- BLACK OR WHITE? Who is trying to shield anyone? Black- or White?

I never see threads or News lines that start out with, "WHITE MAN KILLS....."

I watched the story unfold of the man that shot a teen at his door- and I remember hearing it on the News- and it was never started out with the words WHITE MAN! It may have been followed up with information about who was White and Who was Black as the details unfolded- But the news caption lines did not start out with WHITE MAN SHOOTS BLACK BOY! That is racist, Incendiary, unprofessional, and Ignorant.

You Trumptards are such impossible Racists, Hypocrites, and SHIT STIRRERS! Always trying to play the victim- DONNIE TAUGHT YOU WELL! What a horrible leader.
