Birtherism Is Dead. Long Live Birtherism.

Not much, which makes the holdout all the more inexplicable, IMO. Of course you haven't read other posts of mine and will pretend that I haven't already stated that on that one thing I was wrong, but it does beg the question as to why spend so much time and energy suppressing it in court when it was pretty darned innocuous. It doesn't bode well for the reputation of "transparency" for the promised "most transparent administration in history."

That's baloney, Damo! The man presented documentation that was validated by the State of Hawaii and used by all Hawaiians (the only one the citizens can get)....birthers REJECTED it....so why the hell should Obama entertain assholes who are just "anti-Obama"? Check out my thread regarding the true face of the anti-Obama folk....birthers are NEVER satisfied.

As I said before, yeah I based that assumption on the action, paying lawyers for years to fight this, even allowing at least one soldier to go to prison. It pointed to an actual reason that could be explained for the withholding of the information. But instead we got this.

Blaming the victim? Remember, the birthers were the ones pushing some BS that has been a reality since 1961! The State Dept., Secret Service, Congress, Hawaii, Illinois, 2 Hawaii newspapers from 1961....all documented the man's citizenry. And one dopey ass soldier screws himself and it's Obama's fault? Naa-unnh son, that dog of yours won't fly.

I also think that the President should have sent a press secretary out rather than try to lecture people about doing important things for the nation just before hitting Oprah, then attending fund raising dinners.

Then people bitch about him being elitist and detached from the people, blah, blah blah. Yeah, I'm with you on the Oprah thing, as I'm no fan of her beyond a certain point..but the fund raisers are the nature of the beast.

True, but if I were on his team I would have strongly recommended doing this on a day he was actually doing something important for the nation. If you are going to lecture on how others must only do something important for the nation you should avoid the appearance of frivolity and selfish interest immediately following. It would be too easy to wait a day and go visit the tornado-strewn fields in Alabama after making your announcement to underline the "frivolous" nature of your opponents.

If that were true he would have produced that long before Corsi came on the scene. We must assume he is rational, the only seemingly rational reason was an attempt at political rope-a-dope. The release now was also rational, but I realize that had he been able to hold that Trump card until just before the election it would have caused much more harm to his opponent if the issue was one that his opponent was actually pressing.

I think it is likely somebody at NBC "leaked" that Trump had signed a contract for the next season thus pretty much guaranteeing he wasn't going to actually run, he had to use it now or it would lose effectiveness. There was only one candidate even talking about it, and he was one that most rational people said was never going to be the nominee.

You forget, the birther BS was on the way out of the limelight before Trump and the MSM blew it back up. Boehner, Rove and even wingnut Ann Coulter were voicing capitulation to Obama on this silliness with their eyes on 2012. Obama reacted accordingly, and with deadly accuracy.

Hindsight is 20/20, and let's face it, Obama is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. IMHO, no damage to his credibility, compassion or focus as a President in the highly politicized year to elections.

So, you clearly underline that no serious pundit carried this? Perhaps you should tell others this clear truth.

Thats odd.....I heard more, much more of the 'birther bullshit" from MSNBC's Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews and Maddow, CNN, NBC, and late night comedians than I ever heard on Fox, or right wing blogs or Republicans in general.......nice spin though....that lie has legs and will persist in minds of uneducated and ill-informed pinheads for awhile yet....

Obviously, you must have been out of the country during the last two years, what with all the coverage and conversation of the birther nonsense done by Fox, Clear Channel, Murdoch and Moon publications, right wing punditry on ABC Talk Radio and the like, etc., etc. Had you paid attention in the last two years, you would have notice Shultz and Maddow reporting and talking about what the forementioned were doing regarding birthers and the like.

there's no "lie" except what the birthers have tried to pass off for the last two years (with help from the alleged "liberal" main stream media)...but now Obama has taken that away from the neocon punditry and their various compadres...and the stink will be on the pundits and politicians who supported but did not vigorously denounced the birther bullshit.

Sorry, but you can't try to play off the complicity of the right wing punditry and the little to no protest from the GOP politicos regarding the birthers in the last 2 years! I posted a nice little video of Buchannan (former Nixon speech writer, candidate for GOP Presidential nomination, journalist, commentator, conservative activist) spewing a fantastic display of birther beligerence! Check it out. He's just an example.

Utter rubbish. Every politico that I know has stated that we have more important issues. Seriously, this is a non-winner. It's too easy to show clips with all of them doing what you "demand" they do. It's really quite sad, it seems you have a permanent residence in a fantasy world that nobody else has access to. Reality isn't matching up with what you believe in this case.

When there are threads on how Michelle Bachman wasn't supportive, when there are threads on how Ron Paul didn't support them... Even the most "Tea Party" of the elected officials made clear statements that this wasn't something they were in support of, your "demand" is ridiculous. You "demand" they do exactly what they already did.

See, we were having a nice discussion, but the second I provide proof that YOU are wrong on a specific point, YOU get all nasty and condescending.
Don't get pissed at me because I provide PROOF IN THEIR OWN WORDS regarding their echoing or giving a wink and a nod to the birther BS. TFB if YOU don't like it, as that changes NOTHING regarding a matter of fact and history that confirms what I'm saying here.

When there are threads on how Michelle Bachman wasn't supportive, when there are threads on how Ron Paul didn't support them...(Ron Paul didn't mind birther support, but he did state that he didn't consider the issue worthy of discussion. There might be some record of him straight out condemning the birther movement, but I’m not sure. ) Even the most "Tea Party" of the elected officials made clear statements that this wasn't something they were in support of, your "demand" is ridiculous. I can live with Matthews saying stupid things, he isn't any rightie pundit that I have ever heard of, nor is that guy a contender or a pundit...

Basically, every serious pundit has long ago dismissed this issue, every US Congressperson that I know did (including Ron Paul), every Senator...

It won't be hard to find the clips, throw them in ads with idiots lying about it, and win that one. This one is a loser for you. I'm good with that.

Some unknown state senator... M'eh. Nobody cares.

Basically, I hope that your position becomes the mainstream hopes of the Democratic party. If you could maybe defend a bit of that crap policy you might have a chance, but if this is the best you got? You're cooked.

Oh for God's sake, Matthews was interviewing a GOP CONGRESSMAN who was mouthing the same birther enabling BS! Matthews called him on it....and that is just ONE example of how over the last 2 years various GOP officials being mealy mouth when it came to the birther movement. YOU alluded to that it didn't occur....reality proves you wrong.

Basically, every serious pundit has long ago dismissed this issue, every US Congressperson that I know did (including Ron Paul), every Senator...

Basically Damo, you're full of shit! I just presented TWO examples of GOP politicos being two faced supporters of the birthers. Grow up Damo!

It won't be hard to find the clips, throw them in ads with idiots lying about it, and win that one. This one is a loser for you. I'm good with that.

WTF is the matter with you, Damo? You sound like every other stupid ass neocon/teabagger/birther/oather who goes into denial mode when their's documentation that proves their beliefs wrong. Clearly, you didn't check out the information regarding Bachmann, or the McClatchy news report regarding the birther/Tea party relation.

As the chronology of the posts shows, YOU made statements that were proven wrong with video/reporting of people IN THEIR OWN WORDS. Nothing was doctored to try and slander them.

As for Ron Paul, he's an independent/Libertarian who sure as hell didn't mind birther voting support, but just blows off the whole issue as not worth discussing.

I just gave 2 examples that proved your initial assertion wrong....deal with and don't be a wussy about it.

Basically, I hope that your position becomes the mainstream hopes of the Democratic party. If you could maybe defend a bit of that crap policy you might have a chance, but if this is the best you got? You're cooked.

For someone who swears he's not some neocon parrot, Damo, you sure as hell start raving like one the nano-second someone proves you wrong.

The chronology of the posts shows YOU made some statements that just weren't true....seems you now blame people video taping the assholes hangning themeselves with their own words. Gee, that's kind of like birthers blaming Obama for dragging this nonsense out for two years.

I don't know if you're sincere about this or you're just doing it to maintain poster interests, but you're coming off as pretty lame, Damo.

Like I said, the stink of the birther BS failure is on the GOP...and the more they deny in the face of recorded/documented actions, the bigger fools and liars they look.

No, you didn't. I said that every serious pundit made it clear that they were against the birther claims, from O'Reilly, all the way down the list.

Your answer? Some unknown state congressperson.

I directly stated that every US Congressperson, named a couple, and every Senator made it clear that they were against these claims...

Your answer? Somebody who isn't a US Congressperson, not a US Senator...

I'm comfortable with my stance. I seriously hope that your side thinks this is a winner. I can see the answer ads now.

Cut to clip of Obama "lecturing" people about the "important business of the nation" the lopping off to Oprah, then to fundraisers that are personally important, but not the "important business of the nation"... <voiceover, "Really? His personal fundraising is the 'important business of the nation?'"

Cut to some talking head claiming that "all the GOP Pundits" said something they haven't, cut to clips of the GOP pundits saying the opposite...

<ominous music>
Voiceover: "This is what Democrats think are the important issues of the day. Your dollar buys half the groceries it did when Obama took office, your house has lost half its value, the dollar is worth less than before and they tell you there is no inflation, the ATF illegally allowed guns to go over the border that were later claimed to have been the fault of the seller... and all they have to say to distract you from this isn't even true..."

<upbeat music>
A couple more clips of Republicans talking about actually important issues, giving solutions.

Paid for by the "It's the Spending, Stupid!" campaign...

By creating a head and then bursting it, Trump has done the republican that will actually run against Obama a huge favor, this will long have died down by then.

It won't if the Republicans are on the wrong side of the public on major issues and fall behind in the polls. Then I guarantee it will rear it's ugly head again.

You ever heard of Congress Woman Michelle Backman?

Trump is the best the GOP has and the Dems should worry?

You ever heard of Congress Woman Michelle Backman?

Yes, I have. Do you have a clip of her demanding a Birth Certificate?

Here's one of her saying (before the disclosure) that the Birth Certificate Flap must stop...
