Big bucks at gun show, small change for victims

Wouldn't it have been easier to admit that you don't know in the first place, instead of posting this?

It wouldn't have been as funny.

Why would you ask "So you don't know" immediately after I posted "No, I don't know"?

You thought that was funny?

I asked to confirm that you don't know the gun laws regarding CCW in all 50 states.

Does that mean that CCW could currently be legal in all 50 states?

Currently there are 3 states with unlimited (No license/permit required) CCW laws:
Alaska, Arizona, Vermont. (I wonder if the shootings will have an effect on Arizona's law?)

There are 37 states with Shall Issue:
Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming

On the negative, government-can't-trust-its-citizens side, there are 7 states with restricted CCW issue laws:
California, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island

and 2 outright totalitarian states that do not provide for any type of CCW:
Wisconsin & Illinois

So there are 9 states that need to catch up to minimal rights, and 37 that need to go that final step to recognize licensing an enumerated right is just plain wrong.

No, that means you couldn't read what I posted. I clearly said that I knew it wasn't in all 50 states. I just don't know how many states have "shall issues" laws concerning CCW.

Fortunately GoodLuck has posted the answer for you, and saved you the time and trouble of doing a bit of research.

But if you didn't know, how could you know "it wasn't in all 50 states"?

BTW, Google could be your friend as well, couldn't it?

..."48 states have passed laws allowing citizens to carry certain concealed firearms in public, either without a permit or after obtaining a permit from state or local law enforcement..."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concealed_carry_in_the_United_States#Shall-Issue

Because I am aware that some states do not have "shall issue" laws. I knew that New York, New Jersey and California did not issue CCW permits except in relatively rare situations.

Why didn't you state what you knew, then?

I did say that not all states have "shall issue" laws.

Why didn't you do a search for the info. Yo certainly could have found and read numerous sources in the time you have spent asking me these question that you claim are meant to give you info and clarity of points.

I didn't make the original claim. You did.

...Federal gun-buying laws have been blamed by authorities for leading to movement of guns to convicted felons and other prohibited purchasers. Although patrons must fill out paperwork and be cleared through an FBI database to buy a gun from a registered dealer, ordinary residents are allowed to sell guns to one another at gun shows without any background checks..."

yes, as it should be. the federal government has zero power or authority to determine to who, how, or when I should sell my own personal property.

I didn't say that at all. In fact, I have a CCW permit. I think all 50 states should have a "Shall Issue" CCW permit law.

and I think all 50 states should not be able to prohibit open carry, with or without a license. Bearing arms is a constitutionally protected right of the people.

I agree.

Should "OldFezziwig" have the power and authority to determine who, how, or when people can post here?
