Biden will not #STFU on Georgia

( like registration hich has increased the time for GA resident to register before election)

Which came at the expense of several other election laws that were changed in order to restrict voting and voting access.

You left all those details out of your posts because that's what you always do.

No!

How can you still be getting this wrong?

CO has automatic voter registration when you get a license or renew it.

And when the new system was put into place in CO in 2013-15, every single person with a DMV license or State ID card were automatically registered to vote if they weren't already.

Georgia has nothing like that.

WTF?
All CO voters who vote at the polls must provide identification.

not a word on the border -he wont even go -yet this blowhard just keeps on dumping on Ga.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-georgia-smarten-up-avoid-losing-business-new-election-law

It is reassuring to see that for-profit operations and businesses are speaking up about how these new Jim Crow laws that are just antithetical to who we are," the president told reporters Tuesday.

"There's another side to it too. When they in fact move out of Georgia, people who need help most, people who are making hourly wages, sometimes get hurt the most," Biden said.

He said he supports however businesses decide to protest the law. "I think it's a very tough decision for a corporation to make or group to make, I respect them when they make that judgment, I support whatever judgment they make. The best way to deal with this is for Georgia and other states to smarten up. Stop it, stop it," he said.

Biden is correct, Georgia only hurts itself with overt attempts to suppress the vote, amazing coming out of the election that they thought they were going to get away with it without drawing attention

Georgia just passed a wish list of voter suppression. It is a terrible bill designed to stop likely dem voters from exercising their right to vote. It is axiomatic that a larger turnout helps the Dems. That is why reds are trying to cut the vote. Every part of the bill does that except one that allows the Repub state powers to control the local election commissions.
1. Less time allowed to request absentee ballots. Why would they do that? The result is less voters.
2. Struct ID in absentee ballots. Will that increase or decrease the turnout. If course we all know.
3. It is now illegal for the election comm. to sent absentee ballot requests to all registered voters. Why?
4. Cut ballot drop boxes from 94 to 23 in populous counties. Again, make voting harder on likely Dem districts.
5. They are cutting souls to the polls
6. We all know who gets hit by disallowing people to offer food and water to people in long lines to vote. They already have arranged it so black areas have long lines. Now lets make it more miserable and dangerous.
There are a few more. We KNOW why the reds did this.

yes.
So the law is NOT JIM CROW 2 -capiche? It's Georia's efforts to both provide a secure election and also
give ample voting time (like expanding weekend early voting

WTF?
All CO voters who vote at the polls must provide identification.

You are missing, or purposely avoiding, the most grievous part, Georgia is taking control of elections away from that entity elected State wide purposely to oversee elections and handing it over to State Legislators, in other words, local party partisans.

So the law is NOT JIM CROW 2

Yes, it is. That is precisely its purpose and intent. That's why they expanded early voting in some districts, but restricted it in others.

It's why they pushed election costs onto the counties that they know cannot afford it because those counties are already paying the way for the parts of the state like MTG's district that are filled with performance artists who cosplay rugged individualism but couldn't survive staying at home in a pandemic for a few months.

It's why they usurped the power given to the SoS, and gave themselves the authority to overrule county election boards for places they don't like the vote totals.

This is Jim Crow 2.0 all the way.

give ample voting time (like expanding weekend early voting

The part you leave out is that the expanded weekend early voting is at the expense of the county, not the state as it was before this law.

This is what I mean when I say that you're a liar. You lie by omission.

You are missing, or purposely avoiding, the most grievous part, Georgia is taking control of elections away from that entity elected State wide purposely to oversee elections and handing it over to State Legislators, in other words, local party partisans.

And also, 97% of CO voters voted by mail in the 2020 election because CO is a universal mail-in voting state.

Georgia is not.

ya I know the mail ins,but the requirement are virtually the same. show an ID and there are dropboxes
(although the dropboxes in GA are the same as Fl -where we have very secure and full enfranschiement.

what gets me is in many cases -( like registration hich has increased the time for GA resident to register before election) is actually a liberalization from the previous law.

you/I can go on and on - but this silly JimCrow 2 is the usual Biden lies

BULL. SHIT. So you think voting rights advocates would OPPOSE a liberalization of the previous law? Are you that stupid? Another rhetorical.

Georgia's new law restricts the number of drop boxes available. The new law cuts the number of allowable drop boxes in the Atlanta metro area to 23. Down from 94.
Georgia's new law restricts the USE of drop boxes to early voting hours. You can't go after hours and drop your ballot.
Georgia's new law prohibits sending out absentee mail applications unsolicited.
Georgia's new law cuts down the window for voting absentee
Georgia now requires additional weekend early voting. Since this was already done in metro areas, it means they have expanded early voting in traditionally Republican areas.
Georgia does not allow handing out water within 150 feet of a polling place or within 25 feet of a voter standing line. The intent is obvious..... discourage people from waiting in lines. Where does that happen? Take a fucking guess.
Georgia's law eliminates the Secretary of State from chairing the election board. Because your Orange God is mad at him. Instead the state legislature will appoint the chair.

Every single one of those changes is designed to reduce the number of votes cast in the Atlanta metro area. Period. It is prima facie racist. As are you.

are you desperately trying to make a point?
Is it possible for you to utter more then just phrases? ( not rhetorical)

Not desperately. Just trying to educate you. Citizens United was about free speech. Now, suddenly, you want corporations to stop taking political positions. Because you don't like them. You are a hypocrite. Or, more to the point, your Putin Puppet character is a racist. I assume that is with intent.

the only difference is in the number of state electors appointed by the Legislature ( i think it increases it by 1)
and the fact the Legislature can supplant the sec of state by their purview

so you finally were able to complete a sentence/thought.
(PS the 'Putin puppet' meme is stale -all used up falsely to accuse Trump during the Russian hoax)

saying things are "about' is so non-specific it merits no further response

Looks very much like Florida law (except for teh stupid water restrictions) -which is also NOT Jim Crowe 2

Let's not forget that Anatta has always been trying to suppress the vote and/or weaken the integrity of the vote for several years now...

1. He did it in 2018 when he embraced and disseminated the #Walkaway and #Blexit, which turned out to be Russian Active Measures intended to suppress minority and youth turnout

2. He did it in 2020 when he lied about getting an unsolicited mail-in ballot: My unsolicited mail in ballot winds up in neighbors box

3. He did it in 2021 when he continued with The Big Lie, even going so far as to throw his support behind the 1/6 insurrectionists: Storm the Bastille

I’ve been living in Georgia for over 20 years and I have to show ID to vote every election. Having to show ID FOR ABSENTEE VOTING is a ruse, a distraction from talking about the issue YOU avoided. Having Republican politicians rule over County election boards .. straight Jim Crowism.

If there was no collusion then why did Manafort ask Kilimnik to give GOP polling data to Oleg Deripaska, and why did Kilimnik give Deripaska the data?

Yes, the FL law is also Jim Crow 2.0.

Any law that seeks to restrict voting based on The Big Lie is a Jim Crow law.

So, divest yourself of The Big Lie, and you'll see there's no need for Jim Crow 2.0.

But I believe it is physically impossible for you to go back on The Big Lie now.
