Biden Plans Cuba Reset

So ... you're FOR normalization of ties with Cuba?

Does everything have to be spelt out for you? My only worry is that if Cuba opens up the Miami Mafia, Mexican and Central American gangsters will move in and turn the place into yet another hell hole like Honduras or El Salvador.

Cuba already relies on foreign tourism and uses American dollars as currency. I would assume it would grow from there. Hotels, Restaurants, and yes, maybe Casinos will dot Havana again?

They also have a superior free healthcare system in place for every citizen along with free education thru college.

They also do not have a free press. None of that Cuban State propaganda can be independently verified.

IOW, you're believing white lib Fairy Tales. :palm:

Jack, I went to Cuba a decade ago for a holiday! Habana reminded of Eastern Europe in the 90's after the fall of Communism especially Prague and Budapest.

They don't have to allow themselves to be taken over by a ruthless pharma company like Pfizer. You really ought to read up on the remarkable strides they've made in biotech, especially with Interferon Alfa-2B, in partnership with the Chinese. This is an opportunity to cut out the Chinese and grow their business. I would much prefer for them to go with the likes of ASN to be honest than a US pharma company.

Good to know they have at least One Shining light. :0)

To what do you attribute Cuba's success in the pharma industry?

Why not? Do you think they're still a threat to us?

Cuba is still an enemy of the United States, not an ally. Cuba continues to provide support for State enemies of the U.S., like the Maduro gov't.

We use Trade policy to keep the threat small and contained.

That's been the problem....the place is too ratty.....needs lot of money to rebuild into something that the tourists will value.

That was a decade ago, There's a lot of investment gone into the leisure sector since. When I first went to Prague in the 90s the place was falling down, they even have covered walkways to stop falling masonry from killing people. It's now an incredibly expensive place anywhere in the centre.

Well, I've read every post in this thread. Bottom line, it seems to me, is that Cuba has nothing - Nothing at all - To offer the United States. If Biden does normalize relations with Cuba, Cuba will benefit. The U. S. will not.

why is that moron they hate us and only want money . they are commie scum and Biden will kiss their ass just like he will with Iran and chiuna

What about what Americans want??

Is it ok w/ you if they take a direct flight rather than costlier & longer routes to get there like the rest of the civilized & uncivilized world??

Good friends of mine were there for a month & had an awesome time & brought back some great rum.......

We have relations w/ China, Vietnam, Laos & our leader even visited NK..........

Times they be a changin...........

Because Cuba is a crappy market at best for trade, as are all the islands in the Caribbean.

I'll admit you're a dope, because you keep posting stuff that's just, put bluntly, stupid like this one. Five minutes of research on Caribbean trade would have showed you that other than tourism, and even that being a low value market, the Caribbean offers little to nothing in terms of trade.

Really?
They do pretty well with tourism.
"Low value market'?
Like Key West?

Are you claiming that money has been flowing into Cuba to fix things up because I have heard that it is not happening on the scale needed.
