I don't know because I wasn't there, but I suspect the prompters were moved closer in at the last minute by the Biden staff, and they left the sandbags where they were originally just out in the middle of the floor. I mean, after all they are bulky and very heavy. That would be a safety hazzard. This kind of stuff happens all the time in this business.

I mean Biden is going to have to watch where he is going, as well!

I think he just got distracted and wasn't looking for or expecting those kinds of safety hazards.

That means there were at least two sandbags present. One giving the speech, and one doing something useful by holding down the teleprompter stand...

When my mother was 80 and fell like that, she got an ambulance ride to the hospital and a broken wrist.

My Mom did develop Alzheimer's at 89 years old- lived to be 92. She started falling before though, after she had a knee replacement at 82 years old. But, after falling several times at home, and falling out of bed in the Hospital a couple of times (The times we were told about), she started developing neck problems. After her last fall at 92, her X-ray or MRI indicated that she had 6 cracks in 6 different vertebrae bones in her neck. The doctor said they all occurred at different and separate times. She started having to wear a neck brace before she eventually died of A-Fib a few moths later.

Falling is very dangerous in older people as most older people have some form of Osteoporosis that brittles the bones!

MAKE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR VITAMIN D- and make sure you get some sunshine daily so that it can be absorbed.
