Peaceful assembly is guaranteed by our Constitution. If it is kept peaceful, there is no anarchy. It is a right guaranteed by the Constitution, like it or not.

1) Peaceful assembly is done by permit. You are allowed to assemble under those rules. You are not free to assemble where ever you want for however long you want.

2) Murder, rape, drugs, violence in the camps does not equal peaceful.

3) Other people are also entitled to feel safe in public settings. Another strike against many of these camps.

I haven't been down there and that saddens me. There was a time I would have been there a lot. I have buddies there, some of whom I know are pretty mad at me. Self-righteous males...well, you know the type SF. lol But none of them are rapists or murderers, and they don't smell. They do smoke weed, so technically the drug thing is accurate. I don't really know what is going on down there anymore I wish I did. I can't defend or attack them. I know enough from my time in the peace movement not to believe most of what is reported. I was on 7th avenue yesterday visiting a customer and it was raining so I blew off going to see my friends even though I told them I might. I am a total sellout, seriously, and I don't know what happened, but I don't have time anymore.

Not that anyone cares! Sometimes I start writing and thinking and who knows where it ends up.

Well now that you are a business owner, you realize what it takes to run a successful business, which means less ditching work.

I didn't say all of the protestors were murders/rapists.... the point is that once that begins, it is a public safety issue.

The protestors here looked and smelled like they came directly from a fish concert.

You think the Founder bathed regularly? It is like Darla said, in a way, the media reports the bad, because that is what people want in their news. I, like Darla have been to several demonstrations, some when I was in high school for various causes and the media alwYs focuses on the detractors, not the average citizens out protesting what they see as total failure of our system.

Unfortunately sex assault is common enough in the general population that whenever you have a large group in close sleeping quarters it's going to happen. I have only read of two, but i have not been keeping up. I personally would never have considered camping there, or anywhere with a group of people for that matter. But to tar even a majority of the protestors, or even some of them, as rapists, is not correct. That would be kinda like me saying all men are rapists because some men rape. When in fact I know that a small percentage of men commit most of the rapes and most men are not rapists. The same goes for the protesters. That is my opinion.

I know. When I read about them I'll be like, well, he might have been kind of hot but...how the hell did he smell? I am very into nice smelling men. Well, and nice smelling people in general.

Its all relative. No one bathed regularly back then. Men or women. So it was not as noticeable when they ALL smelled.

I know that the British have an inborn fear of being in vast open/unpopulated areas; but in the US, there are a large number of people that go camping and use tents to do so.
