Ben Shapiro speaking at Cal

I, like most Americans, wouldn't want to live in Horse Bend, Idaho, nor Anchorage, Alaska.

There are very good reasons why few people live in either.

but you have no idea what those reasons are......because you've never lived anywhere that wasn't mismanaged by demmycrats......

Absolutely I'm arguing for progressive policies rather that the abject failures of the right.

What exactly does the right intend to do about all the gross poverty levels in the states they control? Any idea?

look what Texas does for housing. They welcome development which helps to keep prices down and affordable. Do any states in Midwest or South have the same restrictive measures we do along the west and east coasts?

Like I said it's all relative. I'm suspect poor folks live in MS rather than CA because that's where they choose to live for various reasons, most often family.

Let me ask you .. what do republicans intend to do about the high poverty rates in the states they control?

.. or should we only talk about what's wrong in California and blue states .. most of which are doing much better than red states.

I have no idea because I've never researched it, but Texas also has many of the same problems that California does .. including high poverty rates because they are both destination ststes.

Red states are more dependent on government than blue states are.

we control Michigan.......are our poverty rates as high as California?......

In the conservative model we assume people want to work. So the 'cure' for poverty is more jobs. So many liberal policies are jobs killers. And when jobs are suppressed by public policy, people suffer.

CA is a nice place, but like most middle class folks I can't afford their taxes. Check that, I don't want to afford them. I don't want to live in a place where'd I'd have to use public transportation because the money I'd spend on a car goes to taxes.

So I only go there to visit lol.

Look at the link I posted for the supplemental poverty measure; there are about 10 states or so that are above the average poverty and most are blue

Where does your economic theory play out in the real world?

Red states are more dependent on government than blue states are.

Your model is seriously flawed.

Again, more research by me is required before I accept its findings .. and if well-founded, I'll accept its conclusions.

You don't think people want to work?

If CA didn't have Silicon Valley the state would be belly-up.

Of course people want to work .. but my question asks where are republicans better at putting people to work?

The economy and employment are most often better under democrats.

Doubt very seriously that the whole of California is supported by the Silicon Valley.

you're going to research the SPM's methodology like including the cost of living?

Are you somehow unfamiliar with the word 'research?'

I intend to research everything about it.

How is that a problem?

Obviously this didn't change ..

Alabama is 6th poorest state in nation; poverty rate at 40 percent in some counties

Have questions .. do the research ...

Irrespective of SPM or the old way of measuring poverty .. what is your side going to do about Alabama and like poor red states?

Obama's regulations were a jobs killer and Trump has Deep-6'd 800 or so of them.

Give it about a year and see who has the better theory.

the real question is what policies do you believe do best to deal with poverty? And with that is the goal to get people out of poverty or just make their life a little better while in poverty?
