Beef and coffee prices surging

Vietnam produces 17% of the world's coffee and has 20% tariffs . Colombia coffee has 10% tariffs. So if your brand went up too much it's time to try a different brand. Folgers isn't the only brand. There are lots of better brands of coffee. Folgers is decent coffee but Folgers are only popular because they advertise a lot and you have to pay for that advertising. There are very good coffees that cost less and are just as good or better. Here is a little know trick with coffee. to reduce bitterness put a pinch of salt in the pot. Salt binds to your bitterness receptors on your tongue. You will not taste the salt in the coffee but you coffee won't be bitter. Just use a pinch and don't over do the salt.

The bottom line is countries like Vietnam and China under cut the salaries of our American workers. I know you hate Trump but he is trying to level the playing field and give the American worker a better chance to compete. Try supporting the American worker try not complaining and maybe find a different brand of coffee. .
Do you have a link for these tariffs?
according to this they are a lot higher,
Nam being 49%.

You remind me of the wet dream of giving us an injection that makes us allergic to beef.

Apparently it is completely realistic.

Youi're thinking of a condition transmitted by the bite of a certain tick species.

AI Overview

Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) is a condition that causes an allergy to red meat and other mammalian products.

Cause:

AGS is caused by a bite from the lone star tick, which transmits a sugar molecule called alpha-gal (Galα1-3Gal) into the bloodstream. The body develops antibodies to alpha-gal, and when a person consumes mammalian meat (which contains alpha-gal), they experience an allergic reaction.

YOU what?
have plenty of compassion. NOT.

She's forgetful and having memory issues. She's completely forgotten that at this time last year (and for four years before that), she was moaning about grocery prices and how "so many are suffering." Oddly there was no mention then of "shopping wisely" and "lots of sales everywhere." She has no g-kids nor is she around young families who are truly struggling to feed their kids. Like all MAGATs, if it isn't affecting her it isn't an issue. None of them possess empathy and neither does the leader of their cult.

Yep a lot of MAGAS have short memory issues when it comes to Trump and how he is destroying the US economy.

They can have all the sales they want it still is not going to bring prices down , Trump has made sure of that.
And NOT all his tariffs have worked through the supply chain yet.
Walmart is saying they will be increasing prices on most everything they sell soon, some as high as 45% because they can't keep eating Trumps tariffs and it is the US consumer that pays them and are being hurt by them.
And we can thank a lot of the large retailers for buying up and storing a lot of goods before Trumps tariffs took effect keeping prices down till now.

Walmart has already done that, actually. I looked for some pants there last week. The same ones I got a couple of years ago, yoga-type pants, that were slightly under 10 bucks are now $13.99. They are made in Indonesia. Kids' clothes have also gone up. Disposable diapers are outrageous; cloth just as bad. Thanks to our (D) governor, our state now provides free lunches to *all* students, not just low-income. They estimated that this saves the average family $1,000/year per child. Let's hope the #FatFascistFelon's rumblings about the fed. govt. not chipping in for school lunches is just more of his bullshit.

Don't you "smart shop"? The GF does. She looks for sales and has coupons for everything. So do I. Then I go to Harbor Freight.

Of course I do. Don't most people? That's not the point. Bitching about high prices last year, and this year pretending they're no big deal because you can use coupons and shop sales IS the point. Example: Just a couple years ago Meijer would have boneless, skinless chicken breasts on sale for $2.49/lb. I would buy two family packs and freeze them individually. A couple weeks ago they were "on sale" -- hahahaha -- for $7.99/lb. We bought two family packs of 80/20 ground beef "on sale" last week for $4.49/lb. A couple years ago that cheap ground beef was normally $3.99/lb, on sale for $2.99/lb.

Watch the MAGATs now claim it's not Trump's fault* and we should learn to clip coupons and search for sales. These will be the same MAGATs who, until November of last year, were gnashing these teeth and crying that Americans are starving. *eyeroll*

* It's not Biden's fault either. OTOH, since the #BloviatingBlubberBlob instituted tariffs, he does deserve some of the credit for this fiasco.

Since the MAGA morons did not accept a bird flu pandemic as a primary cause of egg shortages last year, then I'm not accepting any excuses, spin, or talking points about beef and coffee prices.

The unprecedented surge in coffee and beef prices is entirely Trump's fault.

Well i'm writing a letter to Folgers After I do a little research....;) The sky is still not falling and things are going to be fine.Until prices start to come down and they will shop wisely... Shot the sales.... If you write Folgers yourself they will send you coupons... Low income people can learn to bargain shop as well... Everything is going to be fine.... watch for more tips from me...
Or try a different brand of coffee. I drink Kroger's Colombian coffee and it is pretty good. Recently a friend of my wife stayed a week with us and she is a coffee snob . My wife drinks decaffeinated Folgers so our friend drank my coffee. When I served it to her she said this is good coffee. She was surprised when I told her it was Kroger's Colombian coffee.

Folgers advertises a lot and you have to pay for advertising.

We have two freezers and my lady is unbelievably good at buying at super low prices and keeping them full. One of the many benefits of living on one income and within it's means. She saves us more money across the board than she could ever earn and we have a beautiful home life. Stay at home mothers who actually do their part are the best!

If something is fresh only and is too high we just don't eat it until it's in season and reasonable.

And we don't waste left overs either. People who "don't eat leftovers" are a sorry lot. They deserve high prices and generally pay them before they throw the food out later. The type that shops for dinner on the way home from work. I bet this describes a lot of you reading this.

Last year you thought an egg shortage was practically the end of the world.
Now suddenly beef and coffee don't matter?

Beef and coffee prices are surging because of your tangerine Messiah.
I thought that? Can you provide any evidence of that? Or did you just read my mind via this web site.

I was paying $4 a dozen to a local chicken lady and during your crisis she raised the price to $5. Had to go down to the bank and get a second mortgage. It really sucked.

When you're in a hole the first rule is to stop digging Karen.
