That's called politics and everyone approaches it differently.

Personally, I don't think GWB, Romney, or McCain were/are racist. Africans call George Bush Africa's best friend .. so do I. But that's just me.

I would suggest my brother that it isn't the Democratic Party who is at risk here. It's the Republican Party.

There is no room in the U.S. for a competitive Austrian school of economics, lassaize-faire economics political party.

Even the GOP knows this. There is simply not a constituency for a tax cuts for the rich and deregulation of Wall Street Banks philosophy of ideas. You could metaphorically fit the number of people who are passionate about those issues into a phone both.

The modern Republican party has always won by appealing to nationalism, isolationism, xenophobia, and racism. I see no evidence of that changing.

The GOP success in the 1920s was almost certainly predicated on a backlash against internationalism and our involvement in European wars.

Nixon won by reminding middle America of that the dirty hippies were undermining "law and order". He also attracted the Dixiecrats who were disgusted with LBJ's embrace of civil right.

Reagan stoked the fires of racial resentment by yoking it up about "welfare queens" and embracing the confederacy.

Trump is really just the natural culmination over 60 years of the GOP's drift and embrace of white nationalism, xenophobia, racial resentment, and rightwing populism.

Richard Nixon's healthcare plan in 1976 was more progressive than Romneycare or Obamacare.

Bernie Sanders is the most popular politician in America period and has been so for several years.

I'm plenty aware of what's wrong with the Republican Party. Exhibit A being I didn't vote for our presidential candidate. I started multiple threads during the primary about why I don't support Trump and why he's not a republican.

At this point in time I barely follow what he does.

You can see all the issues I discuss and threads I start that have more to do than just democrats and republicans because there is a lot more to politics than just political parties.

Your founders gave the "right" to vote to white male land holding members of the aristocracy alone, with a senate appointed by the aristocracy.

To insanely continue to assert that "capitalism" is not impacted by a tyrannical political system is folly. Capitalism has always existed to economically support a ruling colonial extraction aristocracy; that's the point. And that's why we have long entrenched sacrifice zones in america itself, in addition to what we do across the globe chasing markets expansion. Furthermore what you wish to label capitalism now has been divorced from production of goods and services. American capitalism is nothing other than global speculation now. Never been all the big on capital punishment, but I would consider returning to the practice of hanging speculators.
