What exactly does the browning of America in politics entail? Yes, I understand there will be more voters like my nephew and two nieces. But it's not like their vote will count more than anyone else's. What is it you think they will do differently? You think they will be anti-capitalists? Will America turn into white western Europe because we have more voters of color?

And as TTQ64 said the only people that register as independents are racists who are too afraid to say they are really Republicans. So does more free thinking people actually mean they will be Democrats in 40 years? Maybe, maybe not.

They (BAC and guno) are of the belief that in 40 years both political parties will essentially be the same as they are today (we know from history the chances of that aren't good as political parties evolve) and that all minorities will vote the same way that they do today (and they include Hispanics as minorities).

I don't have a crystal ball so I can't tell you what will happen in 40 years but that's the crux of their argument today.

All minorities and people of conscience hate racism. That's been true in this country for over 400 years and there is absolutely no sane reason for that to change.

What I and Guno have said is that the Republican Party in its current state is home to racism and ignorance. Only ignorance could elect Donald Trump.

If the party is to survive as a major party, it will have to morph into something else than what it is today .. but I have seen no evidence of such willingness from the current crop of people who would elect a buffoon as president.

Bernie Sanders is the most popular politician in America .. and his popularity was driven by young people.

Healthcare and pre-existing conditions .. otherwise known as socialism .. was at the top of political concerns during the midterms .. that you side lost by 8.8 million people.

Even republicans had to pretend they supported healthcare and pre-existing conditions .. otherwise known as Obamacare .. which has never been more popular than it is today.
