because no one else has......Aldean's song and media hypocrisy...

PostmodernProphet

fully immersed in faith..
this morning on NBC's Today Show Savannah Guthrie commented that what was controversial about "Try That In A Small Town" wasn't the lyrics but the video which incited violence......what she didn't acknowledge was that all of the video was lifted from national news sources such as NBC's Today Show....

It's such a great song!! The truth always triggers the wokesters...

the backfire from this is hilarious. the ONLY ones crying racism are white liberals who hate small towns, country music, and America. The black youtube reactors have watched this video and can't see the 'racism' in the song. In fact, they LOVE the small town aspect, usually because they grew up in a small town and completely understand the song and it's intentions.

more faux outrage from the woke leftists and it's backfire in effect.

Who cares? The song definitely isn’t racist but Aldean is playing the culture wars, and I am so sick and tired of the left and the right’s culture wars. The song is denigrating City folk with Aldeans suburban cowboy angst.

Besides the song itself sucks and is about as melodic as a semi truck engine braking and the lyrics are were written for a third grade reading comprehension level.

Want to hear a great song about small town life that completely blows this vacuous shit kicker wanna be bad ass song away and doesn’t denigrate anyone?

Then Listen to John Mellencamps “Small Town”. Which is one hell of lot better than this suburban shitkickers song.

Mellonhead sucks!

Well at least Mellencamp actually comes from a small town unlike Aldean.

Also, Mellencamps 60 million in album sales Aldeans 13 would indicate your opinion is seriously in the minority.

In fact Aldeans song is just another example of how country music has seriously declined over the last 20 years. Once you’ve heard three modern country music songs you’ve heard them all.

I agree completely since I use to listen to country music back in the 90s before it sucked. The only genres that haven't let me down is rock and metal. Even though I can't say I've listened to much Mellencamp, I'd more than likely be able to enjoy it when you couldn't pay me to listen to Aldean.

Hello Mott, thanks for dropping in!

My intolerance for shitkicker music has apparently spared me from knowing much about this ridiculous issue.

Some semi-literate cracker wrote an offensive and racist song.

Isn't that what they do?

Ok listen to this;

What were the carjacking rates when that song came out in 1985...How many business were burned down looted by blacks in 1985...How many police stations were burned down in 1985....Did we have frozen foods under lock and key in 1985.....Were people getting pouched in the face for asking someone not to piss or shit on the sidewalk in front of his store in 1985?

Completely agree on Mellencamp, I feel like he's seriously underrated. My wife is more country music fan than I am, but I think I'd agree with your assessment of the state of country music. Way too many real phonies in the business, Aldean is one of them. Slap on a cowboy hat, put a little twang in your voice, and own the libs, and you're a star. George Strait and Garth Brooks are at the top of my wife's list. We will have seen both this year after we see Strait in a couple of weeks. He's still playing big venues. Aldean couldn't sell out an arena. He's pandering. It's laughable.

Yeah, small-town rules like Sundown regulations were just so cool. I guess some people appreciate small-town violence. Piss us off, and we are always pissed off, we will take care of you and it will be violent.

Yet another tempest in a teapot.

I swear - people go out of their way to be outraged these days. I don't know how anyone gets upset about something like this. And songs are art - art can do anything it wants (and that's on both sides, btw).

As to the country music debate: mainstream is in a pretty bad state, imo. So corny & predictable, and very little new ground is being broken. But there is great stuff out there on more of the fringes.
