because no one else has......Aldean's song and media hypocrisy...

Completely agree on Mellencamp, I feel like he's seriously underrated. My wife is more country music fan than I am, but I think I'd agree with your assessment of the state of country music. Way too many real phonies in the business, Aldean is one of them. Slap on a cowboy hat, put a little twang in your voice, and own the libs, and you're a star. George Strait and Garth Brooks are at the top of my wife's list. We will have seen both this year after we see Strait in a couple of weeks. He's still playing big venues. Aldean couldn't sell out an arena. He's pandering. It's laughable.

I agree with your wife. I love Garth and George Straight is one of the greatest living guitarists.

We saw Garth at Caesars palace, he has a residency there. Just a great show. Besides his own stuff, played music from Bob Dylan to Elton John to Lady Gaga. Great night. We're seeing George at a large venue, but at least we're fairly close to the stage. She has been dying to see him forever.

This is a VERY pretty song for a live performance from someone few have heard of. True story,....About 6 years ago or so I partied like a rock star at the place she is performing at " Luckenbach Texas". I met 4 German tourists from one of their newspapers and they were going across the country doing an article about all the famous country music places in the USA. Made the mistake of buying them all beers and the rest of the night every time I turned around there was another beer IN FRONT OF ME! By the end of the night we were all pounding shots together! Lonnnnnnnnnnng night! :laugh Found out from them that Country music is very big in Germany. Would have never guessed that to be honest.

My old shot slammin song.....Country rock though. The guitars are phenomenal ......

Well at least Mellencamp actually comes from a small town unlike Aldean.

Also, Mellencamps 60 million in album sales Aldeans 13 would indicate your opinion is seriously in the minority.

In fact Aldeans song is just another example of how country music has seriously declined over the last 20 years. Once you’ve heard three modern country music songs you’ve heard them all.

True.

Marshall Tucker band played warm up. Heck yea it was a great show. Smoke so thick you could cut it with a knife.

Marshall Tucker. Played their LPs in college until the vinyl wore out. Never did get to see them live.

Did see the Allman Brothers though. Wish I could remember part of it.

this morning on NBC's Today Show Savannah Guthrie commented that what was controversial about "Try That In A Small Town" wasn't the lyrics but the video which incited violence......what she didn't acknowledge was that all of the video was lifted from national news sources such as NBC's Today Show....

No violence was incited by the song or video.
