Uhm... yes they are. I cited three examples in the OP.
The Constitution doesn't give you the right to not be offended, sorry. It does give you the inalienable right to free speech. If I can't dictate (or determine) what is or isn't offensive, how can I expect to mold and shape society around an unknown? If offensiveness is purely left to the individual, then any number of things can be deemed 'offensive' and banned. I could find your remarks to me offensive, and have you removed from my internet... you don't get to dictate what is offensive, remember?
Oh, yes it does. You can go to jail for cussing in public, and the charge would more than likely be "disorderly conduct"....so your right to freedom of speech does have caveats, much to your chagrin.
No need for therapy, I know what the Constitution says.
No, bitch..you need therapy. Everybody can see.
Actually, in the 20s and 30s, as well as the 40s, 50s, and 60s, the word "gay" meant happy, festive, joyous. It wasn't really until the 80s that "gay" became a common word used to describe homosexuals. But now... what if I was a rough-neck cowboy, like in Brokeback Mountain, and it offended me as a homo to be called "gay?" If individuals get to determine what is offensive, how is it you can dictate that "gay" isn't offensive? I don't get that.
And you're an idiot. Gay has had several meanings and usages, as has many words in the English lexicon. It wasn't in the "80's that the word came to describe homosexuals...I told you that it was in the 20's. If you knew anything about high society, the Harlem Renaissance or anything outside of your hick life, you'd understand. And you're an insensitive asshole. Where do you get off saying anything and not worrying if you're being offensive. What kind of cretin does that? A bitter, dried up, cantankerous, selfish, self-centered bitch, that's who. Needless to say, you have very few friends, and your family doesn't like you.
"One would hope that an appeal to one's sense of decency and civility would dictate that folks would edit themselves not to be offensive." ...Someone posted that once, and I thought I might share it with you.
Not a rumor, I think in the case of Huck Finn, the guy actually published the book... a published book is not a rumor. And I don't call myself a Christian... I am "offended" that you would say that. One would hope that an appeal to one's sense of decency and civility would dictate that folks would edit themselves not to be offensive....just sayin.
