Attacking Hyde

Sorry SF, most of your statements and assumptions arent correct. Life is not black and white. You can slice and dice it all you want (no pun intended) and that's YOUR right as an individual but your emotional investment (in something that does not concern you) is not something you have the right to attempt to impose on others.

1) Then I am certain you will be able to show which assumptions are incorrect...right? Because you wouldn't just say something completely unsubstantiated would you?

2) Life itself IS black and white. You are either alive or you are not.

3) Again, it is not an emotional investment on my part. Science is on my side. Not yours. Yours is the side of pure emotion, which is why you try the nonsense of 'imposing on others'. It is your side that imposes death on an innocent life.

4) Saying it doesn't concern me is also a sign of just how weak your argument is. The life of an innocent child most certainly concerns me. You saying otherwise is simply more of your nonsense.

"Science is on my side"

LOL We do not accord all "born" individuals the same rights. Minors do not have the full rights of adults. An unborn, INCOMPLETE being that might not ever be born certainly would not be accorded rights that supercede that of a person functioning in society.

1) Science is on my side with regards to the FACT that it is a unique human life as I stated.
2) Legal rights are what is debatable... as I also said
3) Saying it is 'incomplete' is also false. The complete genetic code is in place. What you are referring to is development stages.
4) Minors have the exact same right to life as an adult. Just curious... do you find minors to be 'incomplete' as well?

See, you continue to give responses based on your emotions... which is why you continue making up such absurdities in a vain attempt to dehumanize the child.

A fertilized egg not a human life. It is the most basic building block for a human life. A brick is not a building.

It is incomplete. If it was complete it would be screaming in a crib somewhere. Your genetic code is in your hair follicles....is that a complete human? Will they develop into humans?

An unborn, INCOMPLETE being that might not ever be born certainly would not be accorded rights that supercede that of a person functioning in society.

1) As do you.
2) What's wrong with emotions? You're sounding like USF now.

Luckily, this site has no rule saying we have to respond to all or any of your drivel

It's one thing to be emotional about women's rights and Constitutional rights, and another to have your nose and your emotions wrapped up in someone else's life that is none of your business and does not affect you.

You just dont like it. When you can tell me how you can take full responsibility for that fetus that might never even develop without infringing on the rights of the mother, let me know.

Science...it's a bitch.

Edit: for SF...how do you justify placing the possible life stored in a zygote or fetus over the rights of the mother? Which could indeed cause her death or permanent damage to her health? In any pregnancy, those things are possible and not even uncommon.

Um, I'm on your side, Lorca. I was pointing out that SF was wrapped in emotions, the thing he was accusing you of.

See what I mean, you completely ignore the science. Genetics completely proves you wrong. Yet your emotional response won't let you accept that fact.

Seriously, the above even a third grader could knock down. Yes, our DNA is in encoded in our cells. But every cell is not equal. A fertilized egg cell has the complete genetic mapping and if it implants will continue to grow and develop until the child is ready to be born. Then that same child will continue to grow and develop after birth.

Screaming 'it isn't complete' just shows how dimwitted you are on the topic.

An unborn, INCOMPLETE being that might not ever be born certainly would not be accorded rights that supercede that of a person functioning in society.

So, again... in your fantasy world, what is it that 'completes' a child?

Saying 'it might never be born' as an excuse to justify your killing the child is not a slope you want to go down. Because I can just as easily say 'a two year old is INCOMPLETE and MIGHT not make it to three years of age'... you wouldn't advocate killing that child would you?

This is getting old. Genetics doesn't prove anyone wrong, but a dictionary certainly proves you are wrong. A fertilized egg is just what it is called, a fertilized egg.

Do I need to post the definition of egg, or do you have your own dictionary?

Is an egg called a chicken? WTF is wrong with your reading comprehension skills?

And once again, Adolf would be quite proud of you!!

actually, again... NO... I am basing my case on genetics. Scientific evidence states I am correct.

Arguing that you don't think the LEGAL rights should be given to an unborn child is debatable and valid. Someone arguing whether the child is 'complete' or 'human' or 'alive' is not. Those are emotional responses given to provide justification for their inability to come to terms with the science.

I think a pretty big argument is that a fertilized egg is not a child. I mean, it's obvious why you cling to that terminology but your inappropriate and stupid usage of term doesn't have anythign to do with science or genetics.

Yes, genetics does indeed prove them wrong when they say it isn't a unique human life.

Is a human child a human adult? No.

Yes, a fertilized egg is indeed itself. Nothing gets by you. Oh wait, it does... learn the stages of human development. No one is saying that every stage is equal to all other stages in terms of the levels of development that have occurred. By the very nature of the term development, even you should be able to comprehend that.

Does progeny work better for you?

At every stage of the childs development, we call it that. But for you that would force death upon this child, you run and pretend that suddenly it isn't a child if you decide to kill it.

When a woman becomes pregnant, does she say 'I am going to have a fetus!' ???

Ever heard the expression 'with child'???

So when you order chickens fro breakfast, you have them scrambled or over easy? I usually get an omelet.

Not really.

Well, a fertilized egg just isn't a child at every stage of development is not a "child." Like I said, I understand why you select that term (while accusing others of appealing to emotion, LOL), but it's really stupid.

When a woman becomes pregnant, does she say 'I am going to have a fetus!' ???

Probably not. Becuase she already has a fetus and is going to have a baby or child. You know, in the future. When the baby child is born.

Ever heard the expression 'with child'???

Ever heard the expression "more heat than light?"
