Divorce does do that. One reason why I choose not to be an Anglican. Marriage is a specific relationship that, among other things, does not refer to a union of more than two people or of two people from the same sex.

Don’t say scripture or the Church, both have multiple answers concerning marriage and divorce that have changed over time.
