At Least 13,000 People Have Been Hanged in a Syrian Prison Since 2011, Report Says

Don't pretend you suddenly care about the welfare of Jews. You've expressed your hatred for them, Israel and their religion many times.

And your socialist hero, FDR, was a bigoted Jew hating socialist democrat pig just like you. He hated Jews because they were successful, not because they wanted to kill infidels like the Left's pet religion.

You are barking mad. I have NEVER, NOT ONCE expressed a hatred for Jews or Israel. I don't know who you have me confused with; maybe you're just demented.

Either put up or shut up.

Maybe we should stop pretending people are desperate to leave Syria just so they can come here and pull off acts of terror.
Ask the Swedes what they think of the migrants?

Assad denies it ( the executions). I've seen amnesty get it wrong in Libya -so who knows?

But we can't solve Syria's problems -if not Assad then who?
Nor is it up to the USA to take in tens/hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, just because it's a failed state.
There are failed states/human rights victims all over the world =many in that "list of 7" -so why just Syria?

Lol, of course he denies it. Who would admit to it?

Personally I have no problem with humanitarian efforts to resettle these people where they're safe. The U.S. rejected thousands of Jews fleeing from Nazi Germany in the '30s, to our everlasting shame. And taking in Syrians during a crisis doesn't mean every single one of them would stay here forever. They could return when the crisis was over.

They won't though, if the European experience is anything to go by.

This is why Syrian refugees want to come to the US and other countries, not the made-up reasons rabid righties are pushing.

"Syrian authorities have killed at least 13,000 people since the start of the 2011 uprising in mass hangings at a prison north of Damascus known to detainees as "the slaughterhouse," Amnesty International said in a report Tuesday. It covers the period from 2011 to 2015, when Amnesty said 20-50 people were hanged each week at Saydnaya Prison in killings authorized by senior Syrian officials, including deputies of President Bashar Assad, and carried out by military police.

The report referred to the killings as a "calculated campaign of extrajudicial execution."

Amnesty has recorded at least 35 different methods of torture in Syria since the late 1980s, practices that only increased since 2011, said Lynn Maalouf, deputy director for research at Amnesty's regional office in Beirut.Other rights groups have found evidence of massive torture leading to death in Syrian detention facilities. In a report last year, Amnesty found that more than 17,000 people have died of torture and ill-treatment in custody across Syria since 2011, an average rate of more than 300 deaths a month...

"The horrors depicted in this report reveal a hidden, monstrous campaign, authorized at the highest levels of the Syrian government, aimed at crushing any form of dissent within the Syrian population," Maalouf said.

These executions take place after a sham trial that lasts over a minute or two minutes, but they are authorized by the highest levels of authority," including the Grand Mufti, a top religious authority in Syria, and the defense minister, she said.

May I remind you of how Hafez Assad dealt with the fundamentalist problem way back in 1982.

Michele has her own 24 million too, so that 8 year gig was worth about 25 million dollars for the couple.....

and Trump can't have the Japanese PM stay at Mar a Lago or have foreign dignitary's stay at his hotels for fear he might add 50 bucks to his billions....laughable....

You're so dopey. That number shows income history from the year 2000. It doesn't show expenses. And do you have a problem with someone earning a profit from their books? Because that means you'd have to criticize trump for whatever he earned on his.

"Barack Obama earned his net worth primarily from the sales of his books The Audacity of Hope and Dreams of my Father. Barack's wallet began to expand after his much praised keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention that marked his explosion onto the national conscience. As Obama's profile rose, so did sales of his 1995 book "Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance". In 2005, the Obama's income grew from around $200,000 to a combined $1.7 million! In 2006 the Obamas reported income of $916,000. Barack's second book "Audacity of Hope", released in October 2006, was a massive hit, selling millions of copies and rocketing the Obama's income to $4.2 million in 2007! Their income continued to swell in the following years thanks to Barack's 2008 successful campaign and election. To this day, Barack Obama earns $3.75 for every hardcover copy and $1.12 for every paperback he sells."

And as far as Mar-A-Lago, whine to the ethics people. It's not just liberals on JPP who are questioning what he does re: Mar-A-Lago and other business ventures.

Rabid righties continue to look for a solution in search of a problem. How about these refugees? We haven't had any problems with them.

"To put the small number of Syrian refugees who have been settled in the U.S. in context, the Mariel boatlift resettled approximately 125,000 Cubans in 1985. And between 1975 and 1995, about 2 million Vietnamese refugees were relocated to the U.S..

Not one Syrian refugee in the U.S. has been arrested or deported on terror-related charges. This may be because Syrian refugees face intense scrutiny before they are allowed to enter the U.S. They are vetted in a process that can take up to 18 months. Once registered as a refugee by the U.N., refugees face several rounds of interviews that include the U.S. State Department and the Department of Homeland Security as well as background checks, fingerprinting, health screening and classes in American culture.

After careful vetting, refugees are settled by one of nine agencies: Church World Service, Ethiopian Community Development Council, Episcopal Migration Ministries, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, International Rescue Committee, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops/Migration and Refugee Services, and World Relief.

No refugee is randomly placed into a community. Rather, agencies settle refugees in planned, predetermined cities and urban centers. They also minimize difficulties by keeping refugees as close as possible to family and friends.

A 2016 report from the Cato institute, a think tank “dedicated to the principles of individual liberty, limited government, free markets and peace” stated: “The hazards posed by foreign-born terrorists are not large enough to warrant extreme actions like a moratorium on all immigration or tourism.”

I don't know what their vetting process is but they're not taking in the greatest number of refugees.

Bloody abysmal, the Danes were just waving them through because they wanted to settle in Sweden. They are now paying the price.

Jeebus, unparallelled stupidity. You think Abe and his posse are staying free at Mar A Lago, or are the taxpayers putting this money into trump's pocket? They could have put him up at the Breakers with no conflicts.

And you have no proof of the $12 million let alone $25 million re: Obama.
