How many times do I have to bludgeon Democrats over the head with past wedge issues before they stop condecendingly referring to contemporary social issues as "wedge issues?"

I call it a wedge issue when it is one that presents a flase choice.... Like this one. Its not the governments place to have anything to do with it, all the Democrats have done is point that out... yet the COnservatives pretend and try to put the liberals in a position they have not taken.

I wouldn't consider the mosque a wedge issue because it is neither profound nor significant. It also cuts accross conventional lines and boundaries in terms of who supports and who opposes it.
